Review: I enjoyed reading a Christmas story set in Australia. Overall this was well written but I had a few issues. One, the instalove. Two, Regan flies back to Australia after 8 years in Canada and has no evident jet lag? Some dark moments later in the book.

Week #: 9, Option 1
Book:

Scepters & Scrolls by S.R. Meadows
Date Read: 12/7
Rating: N/A (hope that's okay Jane, I explain in my review)
Review: Not rating. I feel like this was AI, but have no proof so I'm not going to leave a rating accordingly. Just inconsistent descriptions, characters, and writing. The bones of something good without the delivery

Week #: 10, Option 1
Book:

Something Fabulous by Alexis Hall
Date Read: 12/8
Rating: 4
Review: I thought this was a lot of fun! I'm one of those that really enjoys Hall's more OTT works, so it worked for me but I understand why the ratings are split. I absolutely loved Valentine, he was the best!

Review:
Abby Jimenez writes such wonderfully flawed characters you can't help fall in love with and Just For The Summer is no different. My only complaint was that the book starts off with a RomCom style Reddit "meet cute", which is the vibe of the cover and blurb, but the majority of the book is a tale about healing from past trauma. Justin and Emma's romance was equal parts chemistry and heartache. The transition from light to heavy themes though, is subtle enough to make you want to see how it all turns out.

You hate to compare it, but this is not the cruel prince.
I needed the characters to be more. More unhinged, more cruel, more charming...just more. They fell a little flat at times. So, I was going to give this three starts, but that ending! It deserved a star all on its own. I'm now looking forward to reading the second one whereas halfway through it was questionable.

Review: Urban Fantasy. Lots of action, slow burn romance between Julia/Aurelia and Derek. As soon as I finished this book I immediately went looking for the next in the series only to find it hasn't been published yet.

Review: This was more agnsty than I was expecting but I loved it. It's like a regency error Pretty Woman story with a sexual financial arrangement turning into love. K. J Charles is just excellence. I don't think any MM author does Regency romance better.

I just finished two older books by Heath and admittedly they were so much better and emotional. My first thought about this one was that it was very inner monologue-y. They read like different authors which is odd and I think I'm more confused about that than the actual story.

Review: Okay, I thought it was going to be overhyped and I was so wrong. I loved seeing prickly Richard just become a complete fool for Hunter. It had good humor, a ton of steam, and just made me immediately want more!

Review:
I really liked Maverick and Grace. Sophie & Mabel were fun editions. It didn't really feel like a MC romance though, with only a few mentions of the club members & club life, and you never find out about what happened with the turf war.

Review: This story about Rory and Finn was good for the first 2/3 then it wasn't. I can't believe a highly educated mid twenties lawyer would act like she is 14 and still follow her parents orders. Disappointing

It's really hard to pin down what Andrea looks like. She's described as an Amazon because she's model height, but not model skinny. She's been doing karate since she was 11 and can hold her own in a fight, but she's described as jiggly and soft, never athletic-looking or strong. Someone called her a big woman at one point, but I think the author might have meant tall. The whole thing is such a contradiction in my mind.
There are also 100 too many issues to work out in this book. Keep it simple Andrea, new sub has a hard time around big men because she was attacked as a child can't be startled or snuck up on or she instinctively lashes out. Daddy issues, can't ask for help, forgetting to eat, fainting, back-talk get rid of it. It's just too much on top of Cullen's issues. Keep it simple.
