Yes, that's fine
Week 8Option 1
13. When shaping, the dough is often referred to as either a 'boule' or 'baton'
Read a romance featuring a sporty MC or a law enforcement MC.
Please show how the book qualifies, using the main page (eg precis/blurb/MPG), lists or shelves/tags. All evidence must be on goodreads and something that can be easily checked and accessed.
Option 2
Key date: 24 May 2024
Team mate read on or after this date and rated at least 3 stars
Option 3
Pass
A selection post must be made for whichever option you choose - INCLUDING A PASS
Refer msg 3 in your team thread for formatting of all 3 options.
minnemoo wrote: "Would private security, private inspector, or bodyguard work for law enforcement?"No - they need to work for one of the alphabet agencies (FBI, CIA etc) or policeforce etc.
BUT if they are shelved as LEO or police etc, you can use the book. (You can't add the tag - it must already be in place.)

Jane can it be a fictionalized police force like with the PsyCops books?
Shelby wrote: "Jane (PS) wrote: "minnemoo wrote: "Would private security, private inspector, or bodyguard work for law enforcement?"No - they need to work for one of the alphabet agencies (FBI, CIA etc) or poli..."
Yes. Can be an enforcement arm in any world.
Week 9Option 1
5. A sourdough starter is a live fermented culture of fresh flour and water
* Read a book that has been 'fermenting' on your bookshelf for at least 12 months. (Added to your shelves at least 12 months ago.)
Please state the date you added it to your shelf.
If you haven't been tracking books on GR for 12 months yet, then select a book that was added to your shelves in the first month.
You can also reread a book but it must have been originally added at least 12 months ago.
Option 2
Key date: 31 May 2024
Team mate read on or after this date and rated at least 3 stars
Option 3
Pass

Refer msg 3 in your team thread for formatting of all 3 options.
Would a book qualify if it had been added to the "currently reading" shelf a few years ago but had no progress (because didn't actually read it)?
jewelee wrote: "Would a book qualify if it had been added to the "currently reading" shelf a few years ago but had no progress (because didn't actually read it)?"Hi Jewelee - yes. But you need to read it from the beginning :)
To everyone and to clarify - any shelf works (eg wishlist, to read, currently reading etc) but you must have added it more than 12 months ago.
Jane (PS) wrote: "To everyone and to clarify - any shelf works (eg wishlist, to read, currently reading etc) but you must have added it more than 12 months ago."What about a re-read? So a book that was finished/marked as read at least a year ago.

Rereads work. This was in the task description:
You can also reread a book but it must have been originally added at least 12 months ago.
This actually means you may have read it within the last 12 months BUT the book was originally added to your shelf more than 12 months ago.
You cannot reread a book you have already used in this challenge. (That's just a general rule for all tasks ;)
Jane, I feel like I know the answer but any chance you’ll allow the series rule for a book added 12+ months ago?
Hi everyoneJust a reminder that the next call heads into the second last week of the challenge.
This means that you need to get up to date with your reading, but also - no-one call pull out of the challenge for whatever reason once I put up that second last theme.
***
And for the final week, if you wish to use option 2, you will be selecting your book from the bookshelves of another team's list of members. I will let you know which team's bookshelves are available to you when I post the last theme.
Hey Jane,Can one of our players take the "pass" for Week 9 still since you haven't made the call for Week 10 yet?
Thanks

Hi Jane, for #4. It begins with making/buying a 'starter'* Read the first book in a series.
If the series is listed on Amazon, but not on GR would that work? I'm thinking no but just trying to fit my M&G books into the different slots and thought I'd ask.

Hi Kat - It needs to be on GR. I'm sure a librarian could fix up if there are missing books?
It's weird, none of the books are listed in a series on GR but on the book page under the shelf link where it has the link to shop for the book it says "shop this series". That is how I figured out it was in a series.I will see if I can get it changed.
Thanks for answering.
Assuming my tracking is correct (which is by no means certain ;), I have uploaded the spreadsheet on all the teams' progress :)(Please let me know if I have missed a post!)
This sheet's link is also in msg 1 of this thread - down the bottom after the called themes.

Hey Jane, another question for #4. It begins with making/buying a 'starter'* Read the first book in a series
Does it have to be a numbered series? Or could it be the first book listed in an unnumbered one. (I would read those in the order listed, so it didn't cross my mind before now.)

What's an example? I can't think of when that would happen? Or list a series with a heap of diff authors?
For #16 - if the blurb implies richness without saying "biliionaire" or something similar, would it be okay? I have "she empties the bank accounts and jumps on the first cruise ship available – it just happens to be the world’s largest and finest, the Aurelia." and "She has help though:Her butler – his perfect Downton Abbey accent and penchant for folding napkins correctly should be enormously helpful!"
Kat wrote: "For a book average 4.3 can it be over that? Or does it have to be exact My book is 4.48"It says at least 4.3 so 4.3 and higher is acceptable.
Aiswrya wrote: "For #16 - if the blurb implies richness without saying "biliionaire" or something similar, would it be okay? I have "she empties the bank accounts and jumps on the first cruise ship available – it ..."That sounds like it would count. Just include that in the qualifications if it is called.
Kat wrote: "For a book average 4.3 can it be over that? Or does it have to be exact My book is 4.48"Yes. It is 4.3 or higher.
Jane (PS) wrote: "Kat wrote: "For a book average 4.3 can it be over that? Or does it have to be exact My book is 4.48"Yes. It is 4.3 or higher."
Thanks ladies

A selection post must be made for whichever option you choose.
Refer msg 3 in your team thread for formatting of all 3 options.
Once your team has finished reading all their books and are sure the posts are correct (full details provided), please post in this thread that you are done.I will then go and check the details to make sure no corrections are required.
Remember - in this week I do not call out any posts that do not have all the right details. Please monitor each others posts.
If second team posts completion (which are correct) when the first team has a correction to do, they can win the challenge!!
There are a few teams in the running. It all depends on when team members check in :)I'll keep checking this thread for the next 4 or 5 hours but will then be heading to my bed 🛌💤💤
I'm off on a 7 hour drive however I will try to keep an eye on this thread when I have mobile coverage (aka cell service) ❤️
Congratulations to Team 9 ~ Loaf Me Tender, the winners of this round of our Pass the Parcel team challenge!!!
