And that wasn't my "fun" clown. You haven't picked that one yet...

message 67: by Trisha (new)

Trisha | 798 comments oh no!!! lol 😂🤣😂🤣😭😭😭

message 68: by Trisha (new)

Trisha | 798 comments so, we need to pick a letter in HORNY to all read for.

Does anyone have a preference?
I would just like to NOT read a book for Y. Otherwise, I'm good with any!

Angie ☯ | 3459 comments Mod
Same, Trisha!

message 70: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 941 comments Lol HORNY? I am at my daughter’s so I can’t read the task but can we go by title or author’s first or last name?

message 71: by Trisha (new)

Trisha | 798 comments Q&A says:

Q: What can we use for spell-outs?
A: Title, Author, First & Last initial, Series

message 72: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 941 comments Thanks! I have no real preference but I might have a Y book. I will have to let you guys know when I get home from watching the game tonight..

message 73: by Trisha (new)

Trisha | 798 comments lol Y is the ONLY letter I don't want! lol

message 74: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 3459 comments Mod
Please NOT the Y book! Lol

Are either of you reading the BOM for Wheel? It's The Road Trip

message 75: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 941 comments I am, why?

message 76: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 941 comments I see now. The author is O’Leary. Are you reading it too? One of us can use it for O.

I'm not! I'm cleaning out my past due Netgalley!
But I can, for sure, find an R!!

Trisha | 798 comments Vicki wrote: "I see now. The author is O’Leary. Are you reading it too? One of us can use it for O."

We all have to pick the same letter to read for.

Is everyone okay with R?

message 79: by Vicki (last edited Oct 10, 2024 10:59PM) (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 941 comments OH, I didn't see that until just now (on my PC at home). I'm perfectly fine with R. And oh my gosh, I can't believe all that I didn't see on my phone. LOL I thought we had one task, had to spell out HORNY and that you (Trisha) didn't want a Y so I was going to read for that one. I'm glad I got the full picture now. Darn cell phones!

I had a great time at my daughter's tonight. I hadn't seen my two little grandkids since before we left for Cabo on Sept. 23 so I missed them terribly...getting those hugs and squeals and seeing their school work was just great. My daughter is doing an online nursing class to get her RN license, so she was in her room most of the night doing some work for school prior to watching a required video tomorrow. But when the game was over and the kids were in bed she came out and we got in a really good visit, so that was super nice. :)

message 80: by Trisha (new)

Trisha | 798 comments I'm so glad you had a good visit!! I bet they missed you too!!

YES! I thought you might be trying to cover the letters we didn't want to do and I super appreciated that ! lol

YES! R is perfect! Off to find a planned book that works!

message 81: by Trisha (new)

Trisha | 798 comments I will be a bit delayed on my last 2 books - I'll pick them up next week and get them done 😊😊

Vicki -
For the task we had to choose 1 letter from HORNY, and we picked R, it is a title starting with R. (I noticed you had author's name on the spreadsheet.)

Read a chain of 3 books that start with a letter in HORNY (the team must choose one letter)

message 84: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 941 comments You are right. I had asked Trisha about the task since I was on the phone and couldn't read the entire message, and her answer in msg. 71 was about spell outs. I mistook that to be any of those could be used for HORNY. I will remove it from the SS and find another that fits. Thanks and sorry! See why I don't want to be captain? lol

message 85: by Trisha (new)

Trisha | 798 comments Oh no, I'm so sorry Vicki! I missed that the specific task said "that start with"

message 92: by Trisha (new)

Trisha | 798 comments Sorry, I had a family member with a medical emergency and I had to dive down there. I was with the books I brought, but not all I needed. I'm back home, but I'm playing catch up. hoping to be done today or tomorrow (I have to read book 3 to get to my book 4. started book 3, just need to finish today to move on to the next one!)

I finished my last one!

Jack
description
Jack is a demonic entity bound to a toy box. He uses the jack in the box as a vessel to claim souls. The cursed toy is both his prison and his method of hunting. Anyone who winds up the toy and releases him becomes his next target.
Jack's curse has a set of rules. He must claim six victims before he can return to his box. The person who opens the box is the final victim. He uses brutal violence and psychological manipulation to claim victims.
Jack is purely malevolent. He delights in the fear and suffering of his victims. He is patient and will slowly pursue his prey, appearing in & out of the box. He is cold & calculating each move, toying with victims and instilling them with fear before finally killing them.

Complete these tasks
Arm 1: Read a chain of 3 books where a character goes hunting
Arm 2: Read a chain of 3 books with a 6 in the page count
Leg 1: Read a chain of 3 books with a character under a curse in the story
Leg 2: Read a chain of 3 books with a toy on the cover

message 100: by Trisha (new)

Trisha | 798 comments Do you guys think a pool floaty or a puzzle piece would work for "toy on the cover"?

The Summer Place by Jennifer Weiner
or
One Puzzling Afternoon by Emily Critchley ?
