SBC (essbeecee) | 1594 comments Could it be one of the Fighting Fantasy series by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone and a few others? The first book is The Warlock of Firetop Mountain. I remember reading them around the same time. (Published 1982 to 1995) https://www.goodreads.com/series/4234...

Marc *Dark Reader with a Thousand Young! Iä!* (marcthedarc) | 79 comments If it's not Fighting Fantasy (the most popular such series of the era) you're going to have to get a lot more specific. There are a LOT of similar series.

Jamie Cawley (jamie_cawley) | 2 comments Thank you guys for the suggestions. Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone were definitely some of the authors I read back then. Pretty sure I had a few of the Lone Wolf series too.
Thanks to all the help, at least now I know that the category keyword I'm searching for is "gamebooks."

Genesistrine | 575 comments Demian's Gamebook page is a good resource, if I'm allowed to link to external sites: https://gamebooks.org/
