FA 24 10.1 Exception to the Rule

Best I can tell, this has 66 pages. You could combine it with a short story by Mark Twain to get to 75 pages. The short story does not have to be separately published - it could be pulled from a magazine or different book.

Thanks. I couldn’t figure out the page count. I will probably find another Twain story to “pad out” the page count!

And, if I read a book between 100-150 pages for another task, can I claim 10.1 for combo?

And, if I read a book between 100-150 pages for another task, can I claim 10.1 for combo?"
Yes to both.

I'm going to change my ruling on this and say no. It's going to cause a headache in the database to do this and it isn't really a combo with the other task if your book doesn't have 100 pages. To be a true combo, a book has to be eligible to be posted to the other task. A book with less than 100 pages can't be.
Sorry for the reversal here!

Can I assume the other question with the 100-150 points for a combo with 10.1 still stands?

Can I assume the other question with the 100-150 points for a combo with 10.1 still stands?"
Yep! That didn't create the kind of headache that I hadn't realized I was inviting until I tried to input the task.

From the Reading with Style FAQ: "A lot of books of poetry have fewer than 100 pages. Would it be okay to read two books by the same author for the task?
Yes, two books of poetry, written by the same author, can be read in order to meet the page requirement. This is the only exception to the page minimum."
So, if you're reading two books of poetry by the same author and the total pages are under 150 and you're claiming it for a different task, then absolutely you can claim 10.1 for combo points! Just make sure that both volumes that you're reading would fit the task you're claiming (ex.: if claiming for 20.2, both titles would have to contain a single word, a three-letter word, and a four-letter word).
However, the only way you can claim *any* two works by the same author (ex.: two short stories by Twain in the earlier question in this thread) would be in 10.1.
Hope that sufficiently answers your question! If not, feel free to ask further clarifying questions :-)

Here is the place for that book that only has 96 pages and won't fit other RwS tasks. Read a book with 75-150 pages, or a combination of shorter works by the same author that total 75-150 pages.
This task may only be completed one time.
