Q2: do memoirs by popular authors count as celeb memoirs?
A2: for now, if the author is at least like D list level famous or mildly recognizable, sure. OR if the memoir was made into a movie or tv show thus giving the book itself some celebrity, sure.
examples:
Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed
Fresh Off the Boat by Eddie Huang
Me Talk Pretty One Day by Dave Sedaris
Down and Out in Paris and London by George Orwell

Q3: can I nominate a sad book?
A3: idk how many of you actually wanna nominate sad memoirs so if it's several ppl we can revisit this in a group discussion but I think for now, try to keep it a little light-hearted. like reading Elie Wiesel in a gossip book club feels odd.
I think if things really kick off we could potentially do two book picks a month and ppl could either read both, one, or none (boo) and maybe one could be more serious and one more light.

Q5: this person isn't famous. why is this book on the poll?
A5: if the book made it to the poll, they (or the book itself) are famous.
if u have never heard of the author or the book they are probably niche/gay famous. what a great opportunity to broaden your horizons!
