Ayesha | 209 comments i read this book in around 2015-2016 but i had owned it before that time. i remember it was a square off white cover, maybe approx. 8x8 inches, with a red border outline and the title in black bold letters on the very top of the cover (i think there was an illustration below that) the title had something to do with 'the blue kangaroo' or maybe that even was the title but unfortunately i cannot find the same book in listings online or on goodreads even with that title.
it was about a bunch of different colours and things with that colour, i specifically remember 'yellow is an ice lolly melting under the sun". there used to be a list of these, followed by an animal not normally of that colour. the last page featured the colour purple and mentioned royalty or cloaks.
i remember specific phrases but none of them have yielded results on openlibrary search inside:
'a blue kangaroo! good gracious me'
'except, perhaps, occasionally, underneath a nearby tree'
i remember a lion was mentioned, the colour green (in addition to blue and purple) was maybee also there?
it was kind of written in verse and also accompanying illustration spreads that was one picture across two pages. there was one colour only in each page's illustration as far as i remember, matching the colour being talked about.

i remember a lot of details so i find it a little silly that i wasnt able to find it anywhere - maybe it was a super obscure kind of book lol but im hoping i can get some help here :)

Becca (beccalikesbooks) | 5528 comments The Blue Kangaroo by Collette Hiller looks like a match. There's not much information about it online but I found a video of someone reading it on YouTube here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF0_J...
