If you are willing to place one of your August reading choices in the hands of another person, leave a comment here with at least five books and no more than ten from your TBR shelf. Participants need to leave comments no later than July 25th.

Here's how it will work:
Sophia will match people up and leave a comment with a list of who will choose for whom.
When you see the person you are to pick for, then just look at their list in the above comments and leave a new comment with their name and the book you chose for them by July 31th.

You also need to watch and see what book your person chose from your list for you.
You have the rest of the month to read the book.

So if this sounds like something you would like to do, just comment below leaving your name and list of book choices for someone to pick your August book.

Sam H. | 434 comments Slogged through my TBR pile and found a couple of newish ones and old ones that have been there collecting dust.

Blended Bennets

That Older Sister of Mine: A Pride and Prejudice Vagary

Frederick Weak and Resentful

Balter: A Retelling of Pride and Prejudice

Mistletoe and Mischief: A Pride and Prejudice Christmas Anthology

Love and Laughter: A Pride and Prejudice Short Stories Anthology

Fresh off the press in August

Jann Rowland has a new one coming out and so does MJ Stratten, so I will add those to the list too

Howdy, everyone! I'm glad you could join in for this month.

I have randomly drawn names from those who submitted a list of books and will put those just below.

For those who are new to this fun activity, here is what you do next:
1. Find your name in the left hand column and then go to the right hand column to see whose name you drew.
2. Go back up in the discussion thread and find that person's list. Choose a book from that list. And, then make a comment to that person of what book you chose for them. Do this by July 31st, please.
3. Watch for the person who drew your name to post their pick from your booklist.
4. Start your books on or after Aug 1st and feel free to come back and leave a comment of what you thought of the book.
If you want to discuss as you're reading, you can comment on your impressions as you go. Just make sure to mark any spoilery comments at the beginning of your comment.

Kirk (goodreadscomkirkc) | 265 comments Hi Craftyhj,
I've read three on your list and enjoyed them. A couple others I'm interested in reading. But ....

Going w Longbourn Library! Happy reading!

message 14: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 434 comments Abmom -
I am having a hard time deciding between Pemberley in Peril (one of my favorites) and The Unforgettable Mr. Darcy, which have read and enjoyed.

I think I will go with the favorite - Pemberley in Peril.
It's a great read!

Howdy Jen!

I'm going with The Gentleman's Impertinent Daughter: A Pride and Prejudice Variation because that title caught my eye. Hope its a good one for you.

Thanks for the choice Kirk.

I have never read Sanditon, or even seen the TV series, so I found your choice really difficult.

I have gone with The Gentleman's House Down the Lane as I liked the title! Happy reading.

Interesting list, there are definitely two I will consider myself.
There is only one I read myself, and since I rated it 4. Then I will suggest that one: A lover’s fine eye by Lyndsay Constable. I hope, you will enjoy it :-)

Katja | 314 comments Hi Nina
it looks like our tastes are 88 % similar so I figure there's a pretty decent chance you will like it if I did. Of your list, I have not read the Darcy, Caldwell and Courtney. Most of the rest I rated four stars, and I five starred the Reynolds and Starnes... So I narrowed it down to those two and went with Subsequent Proposal. I hadn't reviewed it so might be rereading it along with you :)

Jen B | 398 comments Hi Sam

I too had a hard time picking from your list, some I read and some I haven't, so I picked what I would read next from your list (I hope that you'll like it - it's still on my TBR pile, but have enjoyed other Newton Prior's novels). Even though I am mightily tempted by the Persuasion variation (which i did read and liked). Waffling....

tl;dr: here's your pick :D

Balter: A Retelling of Pride and Prejudice by Newton Priors

abmom | 71 comments Katja! Since you have one of my favourite books in your list, I'm going to choose that without considering the others. "The Coming of Age of Elizabeth Bennet ". Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

abmom | 71 comments Sam, I loved Pemberley in Peril, the intrigue and thrill combined with the sweet relationship between Darcys, Bennets and Fitzwilliams was a great combination. Thank you for the selection.

Interesting read, but I am thinking this author's writing style is not my cup of tea.
