Aprille J | 1 comments My mom mentioned a book to me recently that she read as a preteen / teen (so in the 1970s). She said, “It was an old book when I read it, but it made quite an impression on me.”

The plot is a girl known for talking a lot, being a chatterbox, etc.. She goes to visit a family member (a grandma? aunt?) who dares her to not talk - only listen - for a month. She does so, but it’s so revolutionary and transformative in her life that she ends up not talking for two years.

This book could date back into the 1800s, but not past I would say 1975.

I’ve tried Google and different book databases and come up with nothing.

Hoping this rings a bell for someone because I really want to find this book for my mom!
