church is slated for demo, the girl that the boy meets lives nearby, alcoholic mom? friends w/ bartender of the bar next door. all that's across the street from the YMCA that the boy is dropped off at each day where he's supposed to be going to a sport(?) or something. the two kids team up to create a pond in the church parking lot. OH YEAH, he's filming the whole project to make a movie - his uncle is a filmmaker and gave him a camera I think.
