I read a book 6-7 years ago where a girl and a guy wake up on an island and have no memory of how they got there, or any memory of each other. They end up finding more people on the island, who have been there longer, but all had a similar experience.

Some of these people end up dying/bring killed, leaving just the two that were introduced first. They then come across a man who has been living on this island for years on his own. The book flips between what is happening on the island and what is happening in the rest of the world, where we learn that these people signed up to go to the island and if they were able to find a way off, they'd be given prize money and have agreeded to lose their memory of this ( I think this competition may also be a tv show). We also learn that they were taught some surivial skills, which they have muscle memory of (but don't remember learning).

Eventually they get off the island and they are allowed to be given their memories back and the female reads a letter she wrote herself before her memory was erased telling her not to get her memory back, as her husband was abusive and he'd be out there looking for her and this was her chance to get away. And her husband catches up with them, but she get just manages to escape. It ended as if there may be a sequel to it.
