message 42: by JoyReaderGirl1 (new)

JoyReaderGirl1 | 25 comments MY FAVORITE BOOK & WHY:

Carlos Ruiz Zafón’s, novel, “ The Shadow of the Wind,” is my favorite book. “…it’s about a man who wrote them, about a character who broke out of the pages of a novel so that he could burn it, about betrayal and lost friendship. It’s a story of love, of hatred, and of the dreams that live in the shadow of the wind.” Zafón’s prose is quote-worthy; his dialogue sharp, and imagery both vivid and poetic.

I love it. I read it when I was 16. Eventually, I read all of Dostoyevsky's works. The Idiot and The Possessed (also known as The Devils) are also excellent books.

The Idiot (Vintage Classics) by Fyodor Dostoevsky The Possessed by Fyodor Dostoevsky
