The one book series I’ve read this year that comes to mind is Fourth Wing even though it’s been out. And that was special cause I read it around the New Year.

"Ripley Under Ground" by Patricia Highsmith even though I won't read it again before our trip to Maine in October. But IMHO it's the best volume in the Ripliad.

I've been re-reading a lot this year so many old faves and many 5 stars but my favorite new read has been Hamnet. Gorgeous and devastating book ♥

Blood of Hercules by Jasmine Mas
Here are my 5 star Leslie F*cking Jones, Leslie Jones
The Black Guy Dies First: Black Horror Cinema from Fodder to Oscar, Robin R. Means Coleman
William, Mason Coile
Nightstrider by Sophia Slade. 100% my favorite fantasy/romantasy this year, and possibly that I've read so far. There was nothing I didn't like about it.Also Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yambao. This book was an absolute dream and so beautiful.
MY FAVORITE BOOK & WHY:Carlos Ruiz Zafón’s, novel, “ The Shadow of the Wind,” is my favorite book. “…it’s about a man who wrote them, about a character who broke out of the pages of a novel so that he could burn it, about betrayal and lost friendship. It’s a story of love, of hatred, and of the dreams that live in the shadow of the wind.” Zafón’s prose is quote-worthy; his dialogue sharp, and imagery both vivid and poetic.
Collision on Tenerife by Jon Ziomek. It is about a double airline crash in the Canary Islands in the late 1970s. It has a significant impact on the way that I conduct emergency response training.
I have soooooooooo many 5 star books but the most memorable are Fourth Wing (easily my fav) and the Twisted Series (cuz I luv interconnected standalones)
Syed sabira wrote: "CRIME AND PUNISHMENT BY DOESTOEVSKY! anyone else likes that book?"I love it. I read it when I was 16. Eventually, I read all of Dostoyevsky's works. The Idiot and The Possessed (also known as The Devils) are also excellent books.
