I remember reading this when I was about 15-18 so 2004-2007, not sure when it was published though. All I know is that the main character was a gay male who lived with his somewhat neglectful mother named Glass and a (twin?) sister. He's fascinated with this boy with black hair who he calls 'the runner' and I believe he has a best friend named Kat/Cat who eventually sleeps with 'the runner' even after he begins a sexual relationship with main character. I also think there was a character named Pascal. Even with all this information, I have been google-ing non-stop and can't find anything. It's going to drive me crazy, please help!

Yes, this is it! Thank you! I knew it had the word 'world' in it; I kept google-ing 'the edge of the world'!
