This is book 5 in the Expanse Series. This book gives insight into the background of each character as they each revisit their past.

The story of the protomolocule continues and sets up future adventures.

I love this series as its very complex and nuanced. Though there is a linear story with the main characters and the protomolecule, it's not really separate adventures but one really long story.
