I really am enjoying Apollo. I'm only at chapter 4 but I like his attitude and how his character is written. It's pretty funny.

In chapter 12. Apollo is one fun teen LOL!

Through Chapter 9. Lol-ing at Apollo's high-and-mighty attitude in frail mortal body. Meg is a perfect partner.

Chapter 12--I just love Nico & Will... they're so cute...

Nico: When I have to sit alone at my table bad things happen. Cracks in the earth. Rampant undead. I can't help it. I have to sit at a table with other people. I have a note from my doctor.
Will: *raises hand* I'm his doctor.

Up to chapter 22. So.. Meg is who I suspected she is ☺️. And whole story is more and more interesting:))

Finished also--(view spoiler)[The first time through, I don't think I suspected Meg was the mole, or that she was the stepdaughter of our bad-guy... even on reread, I was thinking that the Beast was Caligula and the stepfather was Nero, two different people... I'm pretty sure one of the Triumvirate is Caligula, but I can't think of who a third crazy Roman emperor would be... probably not Julius Caesar... There's too many options on Google. Commodus? Who played gladiator and thought he was Hercules. Tiberius? Skeevy old man...

I really liked the way that Apollo grows... even if it is fairly on the nose--obviousness is fairly normal in Middle Grade books... He's trapped in a teen body, so he's growing up there--but he's also being put in situations that emphasize his responsibilities as a father: interacting with his kids at Camp Half-Blood and realizing what an absentee dad he's been, and being partnered with Meg, who is so young... so he's not only growing up as a teen, but as an adult, and it's an interesting dichotomy.

And Leo coming back!! What better ending could we ask for?? (hide spoiler)]

I really enjoyed this book as well! I need to actually read the other series though to get the most out of it and hope to start The Lightning Thief soon.

I have only read the Magnus Chase books and 2/3 of the Kane Chronicles so far. Greek mythology isn't necessarily my favorite so I haven't tried Percy Jackson but picked up The Lightning Thief at the library today because I enjoyed his cameo in this book. I am hoping to go back and read all the books you guys have done in order to catch up.

The Greek & Roman books are my favorite of the collection--Percy Jackson and the Olympians followed by Heroes of Olympus series. The Kanes & Magnus have some crossovers with them too--Annabeth in the Magnus books is a main character with Percy...
