Sure.
Sure.

Sure."
Great, thank you!

Exactly ten years ago (2014).

Sorry, can it be any edition or the edition you read?

Any edition, as long as the book was first published in 2014.

Denise wrote: "If someone is doing a buddy read for another group, can she count it here?"
The intention of the buddy read for extra points was to promote activity for this group, but I didn't say it had to be for The Challenge Factory :)
I looked, and Katie has already made a Completion Post for this week. Would this buddy read book replace the first book? I assume that she checked, and the buddy read book fits for a GISH task.

She will be pulling it down and reading another book.

That works :)
That works :)

I haven't made the Reporting thread yet. I'll probably do it tomorrow.

If we are using a spreadsheet to track our books, do we need individual completion posts in the thread as well? Or just a final team post?
Thanks!

I'd like to see individual Completion Posts, please.

I thought so...just wanted to be sure.
Team 10 - We haven't heard anything from one of our team members since a single check in message before the game started. I managed to send her a message (our captain couldn't), so we're still hoping to hear from her, but... just in case we don't, what do we do?

If your team member hasn't made a Completion Post by the deadline tonight, I'll replace her with one of my back-up players.

Would we be missing out on one player's points this week?
Or can either of these two options be applied:
If a team member has scheduled an absence, someone else on the team can match their book up to 4 different tasks so as not to miss points.
If your team has fewer than 5 members, someone on the team can read a second book to score points for the missing 5th person.

No, you won't miss out on points. The replacement player will have read a book this week that fits a task or two for week 1.

Sorry, no.
Sorry, no.

Since people were able to form teams, could I request a player that's a friend who isn't signed up yet??

Sorry, no. I have two people waiting as back-up players.

Unfortunately, you'll have for do without her potential points for this Week. If she misses a second Week, I'll replace her with a back-up player.
I'll warn the next back-up player to be prepared to step in at the last moment if she doesn't check in this Week, and you'll be able to use the back-up player's book for points.

Will this need to be a Challenge Factory challenge?

It does not have to be a Challenge Factory team or partner challenge. It can be for a different group.

OK, thanks for the quick response!
A question for everyone. I forgot to reserve a spot for a leaderboard for this challenge. Is anyone interested in me creating one?
I've realized that a task may need a bit of clarification. I will edit the task requirement. Sorry if there was any confusion.
112. A ballet troupe in tutus, engaged in a bar brawl - freeze framed at its most climactic moment. - read a book where the first and second words in the title are found in CLIFFHANGER
There needs to be at least two words in the title of the book. The first letter of the first word and the first letter of the second word both need to be found in CLIFFHANGER.
Some examples:
Fahrenheit 451 - F and F
A Christmas Carol - A and C
I Am Number Four - I and A
Esperanza Rising - E and R

Can we use any of the letters besides the F twice?

I've noted that you need to miss a Week. Here are the instructions for this occurrence: If a team member has scheduled an absence, someone else on the team can match their book up to 4 different tasks so as not to miss points.

I'm sorry. There is not. The rules say "...you must finish reading your book and report it by Sunday night (midnight, your time)."

Sometimes they do. I use net galley books for challenges the only thing they don’t have is tags as it hasn’t being out long enough or out yet. Would have majority of the time everything else
