Does this mean we can read up to 3 books a week? And read for up to 6 tasks a week? (3 books that work for 2 different tasks)

No. This means if the book you read for that week's task matches another task in that week's set, you can claim the points for the second task as well. If you buddy read a book, you can get 50 more points.
1. You get points for the 1st task you read for.
2. More points if your book obviously matches a second task.
3. 50 more points if you buddy read a book with someone on your team.
You can add 2 and/or 3 to the mandatory 1 for additional points.
Example:
Task 566. Read a book with an MPG of 'Classic Literature'.
Task 568. Read a book where the MC's name is Elizabeth.
If you Buddy Read Pride and Prejudice, you get points for 1, 2, and 3.

Is 3 the most tasks you can use a book for ?
So you cant read more than 1 book ?
Do we need to set up a speacial thread for buddy reads
If the whole team buddy readsndo we get more than 50 pts ?
Janeylou wrote: "Is 3 the most tasks you can use a book for ?"
Technically, just two tasks. The third way to get more points is the buddy read.
Janeylou wrote: "So you can't read more than 1 book?"
Just one book a week.
Janeylou wrote: "Do we need to set up a speacial thread for buddy reads?"
Yes, please set up a thread in the Buddy Read folder. You'll need to provide a link to the buddy read when you post your team's Completion Posts.
Janeylou wrote: "If the whole team buddy readsndo we get more than 50 pts?"
Each person on your team that participates in the buddy read would get the 50 points.

Like if my teammate is reading Pride and Prejudice, can I read that with her as well as reading The Hobbit because of
Task 777: Read a book with a short protagonist
Task 778: Read a book where a character goes on a trip and then comes home again.
Buddy read Pride and Prejudice with Xxx
Beth wrote: "Does my buddy read book have to be the book I read for my task?"
Yes, your buddy read book has to be the book you read for that week's task. The example won't work because the rule is that you only read one book a week. (I love your example though. Cute!)

For buddy reads, if there is already a thread in the Banned Books group for a group read, can people just post there for a buddy read? Here is a link to a book there that I am trying to get people to participate in: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/.... The book satisfies at least one of the first week's tasks.

I get that you read 1 book. That can be used for up to two tasks, with the Bonus of 50 points if it was a Buddy Read.
But, what I did not see in the Info & Rules is are the points at all related the books page count?
When we did GISH Reading in 2020 it was.
Or is this just about the points GISH people assigned to the tasks? And as long as the book is over the 140 page minimum it is not relivant how many pages a book is?

That's fine.
That's fine.
Alison (Lady Coffin) wrote: "...what I did not see in the Info & Rules is are the points at all related the books page count?"
I changed this aspect from the last GISH challenge. No points for page count this time.

Correct. If you want to try to decide which GISH task might be more difficult to accomplish and might have higher points, you can.

Is it 6 months or longer?

Thanks! I guess I was thinking more for the BRs...wasn't sure if that applied there as well. 😊
Trip wrote: "Can you use any edition for book cover tasks?"
The edition you read must have that item on the cover.

Thanks ☺️
For task 24, Read a book with a hat on the cover, will this work?
It appears to be a crown/headdress kind of thing.
It appears to be a crown/headdress kind of thing.

Erica, Wikipedia says "A crown is a traditional form of head adornment, or hat..." Yes, it will work.
What if my book fits more than two tasks? Do I choose which two to claim before the points are revealed, or do I list them all and get the points for the highest scoring ones?

#8 read a Science Fiction book - Is the MPG Science Fiction Fantasy ok? Does it need to be MPG or is tagged on the first page enough?
#9 read a book set during the wintertime - How are you defining wintertime? I was looking at a book set in Minnesota at Thanksgiving.
#11 read a ghost story - Would a ghost in a book be enough? Like a paranormal cozy mystery or Sir Nicolas in the HP books?
Are these what you want the team to agree on what is ok? I was a little unsure if this was what we should do that for or ask you.

Actually, that particular prompt doesn't say anything about a tag. You decide if your book is Science Fiction.
Alison (Lady Coffin) wrote: "#9 read a book set during the wintertime - How are you defining wintertime? I was looking at a book set in Minnesota at Thanksgiving."
Again, this is a determination that you make. If it's cold with short days, it would be wintertime. If the book is set somewhere closer to the equator, you might have to go by the winter solstice dates.
Alison (Lady Coffin) wrote: "#11 read a ghost story - Would a ghost in a book be enough? Like a paranormal cozy mystery or Sir Nicolas in the HP books?"
It seems to me that the ghost would have to be the focus of the book to be a ghost story. Just a mention would not be enough.
Alison (Lady Coffin) wrote: "Are these what you want the team to agree on what is ok? I was a little unsure if this was what we should do that for or ask you."
I'm not quite sure what you're referring to here. Is it this in the "How to get points section: (The connection must be obvious. If you're unsure if your book fits, check with your teammates. If you're still not confident, ask on the Q&A thread.)"?
I was hoping that folks would have a discussion with their teammates about whether a book fits a task before coming to me. That's all.

You cannot claim more than two tasks. If you look at the sample Completion Post, there's only room for two tasks.

No worries. Ask questions!
I think the toughest part of any challenge is at the beginning where you're trying to figure out what in the world the moderator wants you to do :)

The only reference I can see is Michelle's Empty Nest's general question asking if it was okay to re-read a book. My answer mentioned that there happened to be a task for a re-read in Week 1's list of tasks.
You do not have to re-read books for this challenge unless you choose to do so.

Want to clarify: if only 1 team member wants to read a book from a Group read (like current Banned Books read,) does a second team member need to participate in that Group read as well for the 50 pts?
Teddie, drinker of the bitter invention of Satan wrote: "Want to clarify: if only 1 team member wants to read a book from a Group read (like current Banned Books read,) does a second team member need to participate in that Group read as well for the 50 pts?"
No, a second team member does not need to participate. Only the person doing the Buddy Read will receive the 50 points.

That's what I thought, but didn't want to assume - thanks!

You set up the thread, so you have the ability to change the name. Or I can do it if you prefer.

Whoops, didn't even think of that! Lol
Just in case your team ends up with only 4 players, I added this to the rules:
If your team has fewer than 5 members, someone on the team can read a second book to score points for the missing 5th person.
If your team has fewer than 5 members, someone on the team can read a second book to score points for the missing 5th person.

But just to clarify, if 2 people are doing a buddy read in their group both people will receive the 50 points correct? Or will only one person receive the 50 points?

As per message 6 -

No. The illustrations or drawings need to be on the pages inside the book.

Christine wrote: "Hello, a team member would like to know if we are allowed to read uncorrected proofs. That's a new one for me :) Thanks."
That's a tricky one. So much of our challenges are based on what's on a book's main page, like covers, page count, tags, author's name. The uncorrected proof would have to have a page created for it here on Goodreads with an accurate page count.
