Kindle deleted my NetGalley files?

They asked me first to deregister and then reregister. Because apparently when you do that it’s supposed to prompt you to “restore content”.
I did that. It never prompted me the first time and it didn’t prompt me the second time. Just an annoyance.
I think the files are gone unfortunately :/. From now on will be making back up saves manually on the computer. Which is possible if you treat your kindle like an external storage device. (Which is how I’ve transferred them when moving to a new kindle historically.)
Fingers crossed I can pick them up from the library.

Funny you should mention that as I have started to look for audio versions of my NetGalley docs at the library to get this monster pile moving. I have found quite a few in both audio and ebook, so I'm crossing fingers and toes you will have success.

There is no provision to restore, do whatever. Amazon service providers seems untrained.

I have no idea why they don’t show up in the older records.

Do you possibly have Personal Document Archiving disabled? It's a setting under preferences in Manage Content and Devices, and if it's not enabled, then your documents will only go to the device associated with the email address, not your account.

I did turn it back on so thank you for that. At least it’s good to know it won’t happen again.

Oh bummer--guess that explains it then. Glad you figured it how to fix it for the future.

On your Amazon Account & Lists, there's Content and Devices. It should have all your Kindle content. NetGalley books should be under Docs. There's Deliver to Device where you can resend all documents one by one, which should do the trick. If not, then I'm out of options.

I use Calibre to manage my e-book library which now has over 11,000 books, it also links to Goodreads so you can import your star rating and reviews and read dates

Holy Toledo! I thought my ebook collection (a bit over 1k) was big. I can't imagine 11k. You are a champ, Alison!
Some I was able to re-download from the NetGalley site, but there were a couple older ones I still needed to review that have since been archived.
It’s not in my documents since the files get emailed from a third party site. Is there any way to recover those? I keep seeing something about restoring kindle from a back up version but don’t see anywhere on my oasis where there’s an option to restore from backup.
Any help/insight is appreciated.
