I decided to go with Blood and Chocolate =D

1. The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough
2. Like Water for Chocolate A Novel in Monthly Installments with Recipes, Romances, and Home Remediesby Laura Esquivel
3. Dark Lover by J.R. Ward

Thanks Tara!
I'm just about to pull Faking it off the library shelves... a whole 10 metres away from my desk...
Annie

1. Historical romance... One Little Sin by Liz Carlyle... first in a trilogy.
2. PNR/Historical... A Kiss of Fate A Novel by Mary Jo Putney.
3. Young adult/dystopia... The Last Book In The Universe by WR Philbrick.
Any problems with getting hold of something, let me know!

I'm going to go with Like Water for Chocolate. Millions of people can't be wrong so I will see what the fuss is all about! Thanks for the pick, Josie!

Here are the first two that come to mind after looking at your bookshelves.
1. Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead. I see that you've read the Vampire Academy series and for the most part liked them. This is a light and fun paranormal read.
2. Faerie Tale by Raymond Feist. This is an older YA book that deals with the world of faeries. A little dated, but an interesting read for those that like a little paranormal/horror mixed in with the YA.
I'll come up with a good third choice tomorrow.

1. Storm of Visions by Christina Dodd (para/rom)
2. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer (gen fic with rom)
3. Night Shift by Lilith Saintcrow - urban fantasy or para/rom
Lemme know if these suck or if you've read them and I'll have another bash but wowsers woman! Is there anything you haven't read?!?

Good job on choosing Tosca :D

**some inarticulate mumbling** Look who's talking ;D I might have read whole bunch of UF books, but there are whole genres undiscovered.
And thanks for the recommendations. Any of those would work. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society - so many people are discussing that and I'm still in the dark; Christina Dodd - I haven't heard of her so I'm intrigued; and Night Shift - I think I'll go for that, sounds interesting.
Thanks again!

LibraryLass, I've got a few ideas so
Dewey The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World I found it to be really sweet but if dogs are more your thing there's always Marley & Me. I keep re-reading and it still makes me laugh and cry each time.
A Wayne in a Manger since it's coming up to Christmas (Sorry to anyone reading this who is gearing up for the obligatory christmas shopping panic. The author is/was a school inspector and he wrote about all the mistakes that the kids made during the annual navity play.
Thidly, there's Cecelia Ahern. I'd recommend either PS, I Love You or Thanks for the Memories. Both are good and I think PS, i love you the book is much better than the movie.

We don't have a lot in common, so I picked a bit of a variety so hopefully you will find something of interest.
1. Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie (light romantic comedy)
2. No Regrets by Shannon K. Butcher (romantic suspense)
3. Flirting With Danger by Suzanne Enoch (light romantic mystery)
4. Shadow Game by Christine Feehan (paranormal romantic suspense)
5. Moon Called by Patricia Briggs (paranormal romance)
Hopefully that gives you some inspiration, if not I'll try again =)

Melissa - oops you've just reminded me that I need to remove the stars! I don't really use them - I think I started to at one point and then stopped and nwo I don't use them at all. Sorry :) Have opted to go for Lord of the Fading Lands by C. Wilson. A customer recommended it and I turned my nose up at it, then my mother said read it and you make number three - it's gotta mean something. I look forward to read it in Nov :D

Not really feeling anything jump at me with those ones Karyn. Not into cats, have read Marley and me. Cecelia Ahern's not really my cup of tea (found PS, I love you too too sad). Not much into short stories either. I've had a look at your books and there are a few I wouldn't mind giving a go!

First thanks for the quick recomendations.
Second, I think I've read Bet Me. I'll look at my reading log from last year (before GR and kept in an actual paper format and not in any way shape or form complete). I know I went through a few weeks of Crusie. Titles I'm sure of are Faking It, Strange Bedpersons, Agnes and the Hitman, Charlie All Night, and Santa Baby. And I read either Welcome to Temptation or Bet Me. About the time I read the blurb, or maybe the first chapter, I'll remember for sure.
If I have not read Bet Me, I'll read it. Otherwise, I'll go on to the second. I'm sure I haven't read any of the others.

Felicity,
Holy Bookshelf, Batgirl, but you got a TON (400+) of books on your TBR list! LOL
Here are some books I think you might like:

* Anna Strong Chronicles by Jeanne Stein (urban fantasy)
* Broken Heart, OK Series by Michele Bardsley (light, funny, easy read; paranormal romance)
* Sabina Kane Series by Jaye Wells (urban fantasy; can't wait for book 2!)
* Shifter Series by Rachel Vincent (YA; paranormal romance; urban fantasy; gets better with each book, IMHO)
Let me know if none of these spark an interest and I'll return to the drawing board. :)

We have a lot of books in common and seem to have similar tastes. I was hard pressed to find books that I enjoyed (enough to recommend to others) that wasn't already on your TBR list! I managed to come up with three, in order of my enjoyment:
Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder
Scent of Darkness by Christina Dodd
A Rush of Wings by Adrian Phoenix

I've thought about it and the third choice is coming from way out in left field.
Lamb The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore
Certainly not a traditional romance on the surface, but you might be surprised. Completely irreverent and very fun. This might even be the first choice it is so much fun. You decide.

Okay, after going through your bookshelves, I'm still not sure what will work for you, so here are my attempts.
I'm going to start with Nalini Singh's Slave to Sensation, first book in her popular Psy/Changeling series. I based this on the fact that you rated Angel's Blood pretty high.
My other two choices are urban fantasy books: You Slay Me by Katie MacAlister and Hell's Belles by Jackie Kessler.
They are light-hearted, slightly "chick-litty", but enough to earn a few laughs and thrills.
Hope at least one will spark your interest.

LL, how can you say we don't have a lot in common? I think that out of the 6 billion or so people on this blue marble, we are among an elite group of 552(and counting) that have chosen to join RRRC. If that isn't amazing odds to begin with, we can narrow that field further by saying we are both married for more than 17 years, both have more than one child, both born in the 60's, and probably hundreds of other similarities. I'll even go so far as to speculate that a set of criteria can be established which would indicate that we are the only two people in the world to qualify to join that group. Don't have a lot in common? Statistically, we are practically the same person?! (speaking of which, I'm running late for a meeting and I'm hoping you can tell me where we put our keys last night).
And BTW, I didn't read Bet Me so that is what I'll do. Thanks again for the recommendation.
jim

That was a book for Emily, not from Emily. I need to be paying better attention, especially since that list is my way of making sure that everybody has received their recommendations.

Annevelwis - I wanted to tell you I ordered a used copy of this book, via borders used section.. and after I paid it told me the book would get to me by Nov 13th!
So, just to let you know I may not be starting it right away if I dont get it before then.

Nov 13th isn't friday, is it...? ;)

Hah, yes, it is friday. Well, I hope you'll get the book, hah. And I hope you'll like it.

Thanks for the picks Valerie. They all look interesting. Will look into them further and let you know what I'll read. I just realised this wasn't be the best challenge to sign up for when you have 300+ books in your TBR list ;-)

Ok, there's a local author [author:Hazel McIntyre I think Lament in the Wind is my favourite. She tends to base her stories in the local are and history which is probably why I like them. It'd be interesting to see what others make of her.
Nicholas Evans is great too so there's The Smoke Jumper
There's Stray, which I quite like. Or Maria V Snyder. I read Storm Glass but I think reading the others would have helped a bit first.
Or there's Wicked The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. I love Elphaba. She's great

1. Blood Magic, Jennifer Lyon
2. Charmed and Dangerous, Toni Mcgee Causey
3. Shoot to Thrill, Nina Bruhns
I hope one of them sounds good to you.

Susan Sizemore-Primal Needs"
Thank you, Felicity :) I'll probably try Lori Handleland.
BTW, I'm curious, why did you pick 2nd (Dodd) and 7th (Sizemore) book in the series? Are thery that much better...? And - just in case I have trouble getting Handleland on time - could I go with first ones (Storm of Visions by Christina Dodd, I Burn for You by Susan Sizemore) nevertheless? *blushes* I think I'm slighlty OCD about reading series in order...

1. Blood Magic, Jennifer Lyon
2. Charmed and Dangerous, Toni Mcgee Causey
3. Shoot to Thrill, Nina Bruhns
I hope one of them sounds good to you."
I like all of your suggestions, and added them to my TBR list.
However, for this challenge, I've decided to go with Lyon's Blood Magic. Just requested it from paperbackswap and hope to receive it soon.
Thanks again for the great choices, since they are all new authors to me.

1.) Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella
2.) Golden Lies by Barbara Freethy
3.) Nightlife by Rob Thurman
Pretty much running the gamut from chick lit to a more suspenseful romance to an urban fantasy, just depends on what you're in the mood for this month.
HOPEFULLY one of those trips your trigger (and again, I'm sorry for not getting this done more promptly)
