The 15th will eventually get here, right?
The downtime wait between these challenges, ack
It’s almost the 15th :)
So close!
I guess I should get the book from the library so I’m ready to start when the challenge begins 🎉

I have done some library borrows and filled up my Kindle Unlimited limit of 20 today in preparation already :) I was fortunate the two BOM's for June came in even though they seemed to have a long hold at Libby. Good thing I can borrow now and turn off Wi-Fi in case!
Nice!
Oh good idea to switch off wifi. I had A Court of Silver Flames and didn’t realise it was about to expire and then 20 hours in.. book disappeared 😂 luckily only had to wait a week to get it back

Oh, no! I have never tried with the phone so not sure if there is different security somehow with the audio. Have only done with E-Books and Kindles with the library hack

Yikes! That would be awful

I've once had an audiobook disappear 15 minutes before the end and didn't get it back for two months 🫠 I've done the kindle airplane mode trick a bunch of times though (sometimes by accident, since I always have it in airplane mode too unless I'm trying to put something on there).
It has also glitched a couple of times and now I just... have those books... on my kindle... forever...

My friend loaned me the books, I could have sworn first and second, how odd!! I am ridiculous about marking every book read on Goodreads, so not sure what happened there. Either way, excited to read the three this time. I do know for an absolute fact I did not read the third.

Great, Michael! Loving this buddy read laid back idea to match the games challenge. Have you read the books before?

My daughter and I did the same or similar. We saw the first movie and loved and quickly read the trilogy after that.

Yes!! I read each book as it was released and same with the movies!

My son used to go over to my mother's when he was younger and she watched him for me while I had to work. He would watch all these movies with her. She usually did not think she would like them, but she got hooked on the X-men movies thanks to him, and I came home when they were watching the first Hunger Games and were riveted to the screen. She told me she knew what it was about and didn't think it was something she would like but got hooked.

Nice, in a way that's even better to discover for the first time

Synopsis:
Could you survive on your own in the wild, with every one out to make sure you don't live to see the morning?
In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.
Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before—and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weight survival against humanity and life against love.
