I'm going to read Shades of Wicked - it's tagged reaper, reapers and grim reaper once each, so I think I'm covered!

I just realised I can use one of my library books, as its about 10 kms to my library, about 6 miles. Woo Hoo
That's an interesting cover... but it maybe works for the content better than the US cover which is a maple leaf (I think it's a maple...).
Oh yes, I got that. I was just commenting that the cover is different than the US cover and, like I said, I think it actually is more representative of the story than the US one.

Once again JDR has concocted a tale of humour, trauma, police procedural and glimpses into the lives of the team at NYPSD.
Teenage girls are dying from a lethal cocktail of drugs, and Eve & Peabody are on the case.
At a special once a year under-age night at a club with Avenue A performing, Jenna's hoping to give a demo disc to Jake, and for her it's all about the music. Unfortunately she's stabbed with a dirty needle full of pure drugs & viruses & bacteria.
The second victim, Airlie, is at an outdoor concert, Battle of the Bands, and also gets stabbed and dies within minutes.
The whole department is involved, two 15 & 16 yr olds are dead in two days. And as there is no connection between them, Eve declares them Random attacks.
Its fascinating watching how Eve, Peabody, Roarke, Feeney and the rest of the team track down the perp.
We see Eve & Roarke together a bit more than usual which is a good thing, as the crimes were a bit harrowing as they were just kids with their potential cut way short.
The whole story takes about 4 days, and not much sleep was had by anybody.

Review:Sara has moved to New York to start a new life after breaking up with her fiance. She is out having a good time and meets Max and they end up having sex in the club. Now they have an arrangement that they will sex everywhere except the bedroom. They are having sex all over the city in interesting places but the sex is too much. It drags on too long. Good read with the conclusion that is expected.

Sort of an interesting indirect murder mystery. The main plot was about a double homicide that occurred on the MCs' property 15-ish years ago and how the cover-up may or may not still be affecting people trying to live on the property in the time since. There were a couple of plot holes that didn't really get resolved for me but overall this was typical KA crack for me as far as the MCs' relationship went. I'll keep reading as long as she keeps writing - hehe

Shelf #7 ~ 13 Dec: P - "Plaid" or paranormal romanceRequirement: Choose a book using one of the following options ...
* For "Plaid", read a book in featuring a Scottish character; a blanket on the cover or a character wearing something plaid or a character within the story who wears flannels; or an author's first or last name beginning with 'P'
* For PNR, read a book found on one of these shelves: GR PNR or SOS PNR
This is potentially a winning shelf for teams 5 & 9
For P I'm going to read
I'll finish my M book probably in a couple of hours, I'm at 63%. Really enjoying it now, it was a bit slow to start.
Switching out my shelf 6 book Fall Into Me. I didn't originally choose it because it's not PNR but since I'm behind, I'm going to go ahead and use it.How it works: Angel takes a short roadtrip when she finds out she is pregnant and needs to get away to think.

This was a bit of a May-December romance with the female MC being on the May side of the equation. She was an interesting combination of brass confidence and insecurities. Understandable insecurities so it wasn't annoying. I liked how Troy Lee treated her - letting her know how awesome he thought she was but also not letting her get away with being down on herself. I really enjoyed seeing this relationship develop. Things got dicey when the pregnancy was discovered, Angel felt like she had to give Troy an out and went away for a few days, but Troy wasn't having any of her martyrdom and called her on it and getting her to stay open to him. All in all a nice feel good love story.
Sandra wrote: "I'll finish my M book probably in a couple of hours, I'm at 63%. Really enjoying it now, it was a bit slow to start."I don't know if I can finish both my books quickly - I'm only about 25% in on my shelf 5 book. But the new shelf book is much shorter, so maybe I can get through them both tomorrow... who needs to prep for the holidays anyway, right?

This is the second book dealing with humans escaping from the destruction of Earth, moving to a new planet that was colonised by humans in the past. Moonriver was the City/State from
book 1, which is where the President of the planet lives and works. This story is about another City/State, Stonecreek and what happens when the government is corrupt.
Which sounds pretty dark, and there are some dark moments, but also some fabulous over the top silliness, which I really enjoy.
Another joy is that we learn about lunar moth shifters and their tendency to spit raw silk.
We also see some of the wonderful wolf shifters from the first book.
Loving this world, and can't wait for the next one.

I just can't say enough how much I still enjoy this series/world. Can't really put my fingers on why except that it's got good action, the romance is important to the characters and their development but it's low angst, so I guess that's why. And the plot itself is sufficiently exciting iwithout going on too long or too much - something I find in a lot of fantasy series that make it hard for me to want to read them, because I know they'll be emotional overload. But Neill has hit her stride, at least with this world, so I'll keep reading as long as she writes them!

Oh this was a delicious bit of fun! I had only read Tiffany Reisz' Original Sinners series which I enjoyed the first couple but I couldn't keep up with them. But this earlier Harlequin series is lighter weight and I really enjoyed the banter between the MCs. It wasn't quite insta-love because they knew each other for awhile as acquaintances but once they decided to do the 'pretend boyfriend' thing (a favorite trope), then their feelings got serious pretty quick. The big conflict in this one was her family - she wasn't going to be able to really open up to Erick until she resolved her family issues which happened, just not quite how I expected.

Jordan has been asked to protect Jessica and agrees because he knows that the people hunting her will never stop. The biggest issue is Jessica can not follow directions. They are in a remote location and when found they know there is a rat amongst the few that knows their location. Jordan takes care of business but the ending to the story does not come. There is no cliffhanger or an ending that makes sense.

Things are going really well with Sam (half wicche/half werewolf book nerd & bar owner), Clive (Former Master Vampire of San Francisco) & good doggy Fergus when Russell, new Master of the City hears that Garyn is coming to town.
Garyn is Clive's maker, and a very, very powerful vampire. She is also able to mesmerize vampires and is bat-shit crazy. She's been keeping tabs on Clive for a 1,000 years waiting till he fell in love, so she can stop a prophecy.
Garyn has surrounded herself with yes vampires, so is a lot entitled, and the aforementioned crazy. She thinks she only has to eliminate Sam for Clive to come back to her and all will be right with her world. She has planned everything, however, she has no idea of any of the actual people in Sam & Clive's world ~ the dragons, demon, banshee, wicches, fae, dwarves, Medusa & Sethno, the God Thoth, and plenty of vampires.
As Garyn cannot kill Sam, her henchmen all seem to die trying, this sends her even more crazy.

Review:
Axe and Elise are the complete opposites of the social scale. Axe is a commoner and Elise is aristocratic. She will do anything to gain some freedom even if its having a body guard, Axe who wants to do more than “guard” her body. Their journey to their happy ending is a bumpy one that gets pretty interesting.
Then there is Rhage and Mary, they have finally started the adoption process but now her uncle appears and this can throw salt in this process. It gets tricky especially when the beast comes out to play, but we have Lassiter with his comedy to bring some kind of normal into a tense situation. Good addition to the series and love to read more about the Brothers.
Oh my!! I fell asleep last night and didn't see this! Let me go check us in - I think this means we have bingo!
