Review: Not sure how it happened, but I somehow got behind on this series and I really missed it. This is one of those snarky character series with tough female characters, where everyone banters but has each other's backs when it counts. The species of demon also plays into their personalities and characteristics are written in fun. This book follows Piper, a Nightmare demon who discovers that Levi, one of Knox's enforcers, is her anchor and maybe could be more. Problem is Levi is the ex-boyfriend of her nasty a$$ stepsister and that brings a whole lot of drama to play into their budding relationship as they get to know each other. The other problem is a serial killer that targets mothers is back from Levi's past and he and the team are hunting it down before it kills again. Like the world that SW has created and being back with all the zany players. The Imps are especially quirky. Nothing that I really disliked about this book other than Celeste, the evil stepsister got too much page time that really does not add much value to the story. Good news, there are two more books ready to read in the series. Listened in audio and the narration is good.

Review
I've enjoyed deeply this book, and I've kept on reading eagerly to know what happened next. I couldn't imagine the end for sure, but it fit quite well to the book and the series. You don't really need to have read the other books in the series, because the only connection are a couple of characters which appear from time to time. This is a paranormal book, but not due to mythical creatures, but psychical powers (as could be, for example, Kay Hooper's Bishop series). So yes, I'll read more in the series.

I'll request our Q stamp now and post the shelf announcement.

Requirement: Choose a book using one of the following options ...
* For "clean", clean off your TBR shelves and read a book published 2 or more years ago
* For cyberpunk, read a book found on one of these shelves: GR cyberpunk or SOS cyberpunk

You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'Q'.

Review: This is book 1 of a spin-off from Helen Harper’s Firebrand by Helen Harper series and follows one of the side characters Devereau Webb. Webb is somewhat of a shady character as he was more or less a kind of crime lord of an underground gang. When his niece was terminally ill with leukemia, he made several attempts to negotiate with supernaturals to bite to cure. This was a no go since biting underaged children and infecting them with Lycanthropy is not permitted. So he tricked werewolves into infecting himself 4 different times to become a werewolf. Flash forward to this book and he is a super lycan that is not a part of the 4 clans in the city. Trying to navigate his new place in the supernatural society with the help of Scarlet, a sexy vampire he crushes on. He comes across an illegally turned girl that has just brutally murdered two people. His protective uncle side kicks in as he tries to protect her and uncover who is responsible for her change and finds a much deeper plan beyond the girl at play. The good: really enjoyed Webbs perspective and his intention of trying to do good even though his way is probably not the best way. He really should have tried to enlist DC Bellamy’s help, but he’s a take charge/ the ends justify the means kind of guy. Overall enjoyed the read, and plan to read the next. I listened in audio.

Review
I've liked this book although I've found some thing obvious and I felt to say: "But don't you see it?". It's more suspense than romance, although Ryan and Claire's story advance a lot. As usual, I find entertaining the author's writing, and I intend to keep on reading the series (not in order, of course, but...)

Review: Glad I continued with this Helen Harper Firebrand spinoff... Devereau is asked to become a secret member of Britain's MI6. First real assignment, he is sent to Rome to do some sleuthing. Lucky for him, Scarlet is also in Rome to purchase an antique ring supposedly with power to tell the future and the past. But he encounters a much larger problem when he doesn't pay proper respect to the residing pack and leader. With Scarlet in hand, they set off to meet Rome's society and uncover who is the terroristic threat. I think this series really hits its stride with this book. Devereau's unorthodox methods and intelligence actually start to shine. I know its been a couple of years since this book was released, but I hope HH plans to revisit this character and we get another edition in the Wolfbrand series. Listened to the audio and it was another good listen.

Review
A dark world, as usual, with a dark (due to the characters) and sweet love story. It's curious to see the involvement of some characters which appear in the Bible, but not in their usual role. Perhaps a bit slower than other books in the series, but entertaining anyway (if you like demons and fallen angels, of course). It's one of the few series I'm up to date, so I'm waiting eagerly for the next one.

Hi Sandra, should we request a stamp for Shelf 11 - U? Or hold tight for now?
