Ah, I see, I thought it was just finish date.I read the majority after 5/15 but I'll remove it

This is how I have been reviewing and rating my book after finishing, but now I can't change it from currently reading to read.
Am I missing something?

I go into my "my books" and to my "read" shelf
and then I'm editing my shelves there so it will move to "read" and then I can add the shelf.
It's not letting me add dates either, but changing to read is adding that. Hopefully Goodreads will do an update to fix this soon. I know I've had to do this workaround all day yesterday and today.

Hi everyone!!
Had some family visiting for the UK Bank holiday and nearly missed this message! Glad to be "picked as tribute"- looking forward to playing with you all :)

Finally added my book. I had a bit of a crazy week last week. Found out I have a heart murmur and have to go for an echocardiogram in June and my husband had a cardioversion on Friday to correct his afib (which appeared last month).

Sending hugs Natasha, hope all goes well

Make sure you get yourself the best resources possible at the start of the Games by getting bonus points for each of the tasks you fill. Each task can be repeated a maximum of five times. Each food item in text can be repeated once.
This mini challenge runs from June 1st to June 15 9am UTC
• 1 point tasks
- Read a book with a orange cover
- "harvest" (plural OK, no other variants) in text
- Author initials in HERACLES
- Word in title is hiding a different smaller word (of at least four letters) inside it (not the singular form or verb tense differences) - examples LimonCELLO; THINg; wereWOLF (or indeed WEREwolf); HUNGer but NOT GAMEs (as that's the singular/plural)
- One of the following food words in text (plural OK, no other variants): corn, grape, ham, bread, cheese, apple, fish, chicken, bread, rice, tomato, pepper, salt, honey, lobster
3 point tasks
- Horn on cover (instrument or animal equally OK. but not antlers please)
- Book set in Crete
- Book set in Idaho
- Author's name has a diacritic (Cornucopia was a concert tour for Björk. yes, it's tenuous, but go with it anyway!)
- "abundant" or "abundance" in text
- Takes place on a farm (farm meaning somewhere raising plants or animals to be sold for food)
5 point tasks
- Title (including subtitle) includes all the letters CORNUPIA (no need to duplicate C and O)
- The cover has at least 3 different food items
- Set in Peru, Panama, Colombia or Venezuela (or combination of them to reach the 50%)
General Notes
Locations must represent 50% or more of the setting
Colour cover must be 50% the colour (use of common sense, please)

Icelandic also uses diacritics in names. If anyone wants to try out Icelandic crime, I have lots of recommendations.

I've added Loop by Kōji Suzuki due to the macron on the O in his name in Romanji to the list for Diacritic author's names for the mini thingy. Should I also add it to the Round 1 master list? No, right? lmao
Sorry I feel dumb lol

Absolutely no need to feel stupid. Always better to ask :)
I’m sure one of the captains will clarify it for us. On all previous big group challenges, the books read for the mini are also used for the main challenge round (but those books earn extra points). I assume it is the same this time since the instructions for the mini didn’t state anything different.

Does this count for letters of CORNUPIA (requires sub-title)
You Couldn't Ignore Me If You Tried: The Brat Pack, John Hughes, and Their Impact on a Generation
For 3 different food items on cover:
Can it be different types of the same thing - for example apple pie, chocolate pie and pumpkin pie?

Cornupia Yes, I’ll check the other and come back

I added a book to my shelf but am sure I didn’t get it to the SS. (Mrs Pollifax and the Hong Kong Buddha) I can look through at work and add suggestions for placement.
Do we need specific book pages? Or can I just give examples of defense, shelter , etc?

Yes it can

For text in book we would need the page/location if possible and short sentence . For other items, take a look at some of the examples on the sheet and in "msg 5 of this thread

Yes, I added it to my shelf but not the SS. Have no internet to browse on my computer.

Thanks!

Thanks Nick, I ca handle gory and gross … lol besides it is short

Oooo!! I hope you enjoy it! I had so much fun with it. It’s messed up but really fun haha

Thanks Louise for posting about the mini!
We’re doing a great job so far!

Just checking in with you from District 6 to see if you've decided on any preferences, AND to formally request that if you so decide to send us any supply drops, we would love books that we could use for protecting our supply piles!
We await your decision!

I've requested that District 6 provides us with 3 books to protect our Supply Drops (fingers crossed!)
Unless anyone has any objections, I think we should be District neighborly and supply them with their requested books :) :)

yes! Sorry! I legit just finished the book and haven't updated goodreads yet. I'll do so now.

You're just too efficient :P hahaha
If you like Beetlejuice I super recommend that book BTW! Its by the guy who did the screenplay and one of the characters is SO Lydia Deetz!

Thanks - sounds good! Horror is hit or miss for me but I don't mind trying it.
