Brief Summary: A marriage of convenience between a beautiful and wealthy American artist, Allegra, and a local Scottish farmer, Jared. She needs a visa and he needs an influx of cash to keep his farm afloat. Loved how the relationship slowly grew, how the chemistry was there from the beginning, how they supported and protected each other. Side characters were great too!

Review: Mia is persuaded to babysit her clients daughter Chloe as she does community service at a farm. When Mia arrives she immediately has a run in with Ethan and their relationship is quite volatile. Mia is a city girl and is quite uppity at the beginning but the farm, the people and the small town start to grow on her as does Ethan.
When it is time to go back to the city there are issues as the city triggers Ethan’s PTSD and Mia needs to be near her clients and Chloe’s father as the mayoral elections are coming up.
I liked most of the characters that appear in this book and look forward to reading more in this series. I loved the Disney characters and the crazy chicken made me laugh.

Review: I enjoyed book 1 more but that's because there was more humor. I did enjoy the demi representation tho. I'm also glad Xan's ex was written the way he was. They were a couple in the beginning. Knowing they had to break up in order for the MCs to get together I figured the author would make him a cheating asshole like most other authors do. But no. He was just clueless. Loved the pet cow ❤️ So far this has been an awesome series.

I re-listened to this book and I realized that I didn’t like it as much as the other books in this series. I truly didn’t like the MC and that made it difficult for me to like the rest of the book.

Read a book set in the British Isles

For all the location/setting tasks, the book does not have to be solely set in that location; it simply needs at least one scene set there. The usual precise, main page, tag or list will need to be provided to show how the book qualifies.

I wanted to reread this again to prep for the new season of Bridgerton & I was reminded of just how much I like Penelope. While it differed from the route the show is taking, it was a great book with lots of ups and downs—a great re-listen!

Review: I enjoyed this book that showed the downfall of Lord Ashworth. He is the third ‘Duke to be’ that has gone against his friends in their joint decision not to marry as their fathers are trying to force them. I really liked Lilly as I have with all the other female characters in the previous books in the series. I’m looking forward to reading the next book.

Quick Review: I love the road trip trope, so was all over this one. Their adventures were fun, and I really loved the way the characters were honest with each other and didn't play games. First half was better than the second, but overall still enjoyed it.

Review: this one was just okay. It had a lot of potential but it just fell flat. The side story with the friend felt unfinished too. I just didn't feel the chemistry between the MCs. I'm not surprised tho because this author is usually a hit or miss for me. I just wanted a little bit more.

Review: Fast, easy, and fun read. Londyn leaves her Boston life behind on her way to find an old friend and her first love in California. But a flat tire in a small West Virginia town, and the mechanic who rescues her, keep her sidetracked and wondering if she should stay. I loved the characters and the small-town vibe. Another winner from Devney Perry.

Review 3.5 bumped to 4
After I originally DNFd this I wanted to give it another chance since I know I was kind of moody the first time I tried. The most difficult part about being a mood reader is knowing books would work for you, just not on that particular day. While this still wasn't my favorite, it wasn't all bad. I liked all of the side characters more than the MCs and I look forward to their books.
Are they endgame?
Nope. They're not going to make it through their hockey careers. Long distance won't work for them.
Original
I totally forgot I was even reading this. And when I went to start reading it again I realized the magic from Always was gone for me.

Review: typical cozy mystery. A little silly with a lot of eye rolling moments. I liked that this book only hinted at a possible romance further into the see. It frustrated me that Kip kept correcting everyone who thought he and the murder victim were boyfriends saying they were only just friends. But they weren't even that! They barely just met! Yet he still kept saying they weren't boyfriends they were just friends! Why didn't he clear it up by admitting they barely knew each other and have only talked a couple of times 🙄 I will continue the series because I'm curious about the history and potential coupledom between Merrick and Kip.

Sorry Darkness so you did. I’ve logged my selection post for week 8 as msg 192 but you must have posted your completion at the same time or a second before and it’s appeared above mine. I didn’t check as I had done them all before I posted. Or more likely I didn’t refresh the page before I posted as looking at the time stamps you were an hour or so before me.
Team I need to go to bed. If the theme is called I will post it in the morning or if one of you could copy it here that would be great. Thanks

For location/setting tasks, the book does not have to be solely set in that location; it simply needs at least one scene set there.
The usual precise, main page, tag or list will need to be provided to show how the book qualifies.
In this case, it will likely be in the precis, on a list or tagged 'small town' or similar. 'Cozy mystery' will work since that should be set in a small community.
Please ask if you are not sure.
