This book gave me second-hand embarrassment. I hated it. Other than the characters being awful and ignorant there's also little to no world-building. So, you spent the entire time going why are people who are so advanced in their tech incredibly stupid and out of touch after just 400 years of the civilization collapse? 400 years is not a long time.

This was such an amazing book. This was more than your normal girl meets boy romance. I journeyed backward through time, to the late 1800s when Ayah, a young woman, was captured by slave traders. I felt all the pain, joy, sorrow, and anguish that Aly’s family endured through their history and gained understanding of how events, create a rippling impact in each subsequent generation. It also reminded me of the many atrocities Blacks have experienced, continue to endure, and overcome. True love is stronger than anything, including time.

While this story didn't elevate to the level of great, it was very good. And it made me happy. I liked how it was about real people with real people issues. Struggling with mental health issues, struggling with a child with chronic health problems, struggling to get from one day to the next with all the responsibilities of adulting. Loved the ending too!
I also loved the narration by Greg Boudreaux and Michael Ferraiuolo.

For all the location/setting tasks, the book does not have to be solely set in that location; it simply needs at least one scene set there. The usual precise, main page, tag or list will need to be provided to show how the book qualifies.
In this case the following will work:
* the precis includes a reference to the country, ranch, farm etc
* the book is tagged/shelved with an appropriate reference to country, ranch, farm etc
* the book is set in the wilderness/remote areas
* the bookcover shows a country setting.
Please ask if you are not sure.

It was a good book, but for my it have a trigger I don't know I still have it (about her mother's death from cancer). Is a mature love story between 2 authors.

How it fits: Precis - "Robbie Steinhardt lives a peaceful life. A fixture of his small alpine village, he tends cattle, minds his own business, and doesn’t dwell on his former life and the family and lover he left behind—back when he was Mac Dekker, CIA.:"

Review: Wow! One of the best books I've read all year. The narrator was fantastic, the plot had plenty of twists to keep you hooked to the story. Shall definitely check out other books by this author. Hoping to find my next Clive Cussler!

Review:
I enjoy reading historically themed stories, but this one was just okay. Emmeline’s and Rafe characters were often inconsistent with the period, predictable, and frankly annoying. I felt their passion for each other and jealousy, but no true love. Several characters and additional storylines were introduced, and some of the new storylines overshadowed Emmeline and Rafe’s story. Also, keeping them straight was a bit difficult.

Every bit as sweet as I was expecting! I don't recall many details from the earlier books, but they are only loosely related. But I knew I would enjoy this one - and I did.
I loved how both characters were true to themselves, even though it took Richard a while to figure himself out. I also loved how both made the effort to show their desire to have a relationship. It was in different ways but it was still nice to see. The ending was absolutely wonderful!
Well narrated by Michael Dean.

Review:
Strangely I'm giving this fewer stars than the last two. They just got a neutral 3 stars cause the books are slow and boring. For stories that have such tragic beginnings, there's not a whole lot that happens. This one gets half a star less because there's more than one instance where the author changes the verb tense in weird places and some of the conversations were just cringy. Never thought I'd say this, but less "perfect" communication would have been better here.

My favourite of the series. Beatrix is incredibly charming and hard to resist. She's the quintessential quirky character; wearing breeches, speaking outlandishly, with a menagerie of animals, etc. She's a little too innocent sometimes, but other than that hard to fault.

I didn't really enjoy this one as much as earlier books in the series. I didn't really connect with he characters and didn't like or even understand their actions. I did enjoy things more towards the end and things were coming to a climax. Still, I felt like there were a lot of things left unexplained, both to other characters and to me as the reader. Overall good, but not as good as I hoped.
Well narrated by Karen Cass.

Review:
I finished reading this book but didn’t enjoy the story. The plot/ storyline seemed like it would be interesting but didn’t deliver. This really should be classified as a YA book because the dynamics and reasoning of the characters were a bit immature. Too much time devoted to the characters drinking and partying instead of focusing on Rory and Jamie’s relationship development. Also, in what universe is it acceptable to travel hundreds of miles to visit, Rory, your “best friend” and blindside her by having her ex-boyfriend is your plus one. Yet both the fake “best friend” and ex-boyfriend are allowed to stay in Rory's home and enjoy Thanksgiving Dinner.

I've confirmed with Jane that I can post for you while you are away. 😊

No wonder she's one of my favorite authors. Although the subject of the book could have been trivial, the action and unfolding of the events keeps you connected to the book. I was a bit fooled towards (almost) the end... Not to say spoilers... But I almost disliked the hero for his reaction...
But per total I enjoyed this book.
