Sheena ☆ Oh, the Sheenanigans!

From start to end, the scandalously naughty Meg (my spirit animal) made this novel an instant hit and her encounters with Lucien and how easily she made him submit to her seductive ways were thus far my favorite scenes throughout my read . It had everything you're looking for: historical elements, tempting heroine, brooding hero and a whirlwind (more like instant love) romance that will surely knock you off your feet. I had this down in one sitting and it definitely felt a lot shorter than

This was requested on a whim because I couldn’t resist the synopsis.

I loved Meg. She’s outspoken and maybe a little outlandish and isn’t apologetic for it. Lucien was gruff and stoic and delightfully broken down by Meg. I loved reading their interactions and her incessant talking about sex in books. There are a lot of other characters and I’m guessing most of them are from previous books.

Plot wise, it was okay. At times, it seemed like I was expected to know about the town and the families and

This was a fantastic Christmas gift from Erica Ridley to her readers! The only drawback to it is the fact we have to wait almost a year for the next title in this fabulous series.

We readers have been waiting for Lucien’s story for a long time, and not only did it NOT disappoint; it was my favorite of the three le Duc siblings’ stories.

I absolutely loved the idea of the hero needing lessons in another language and that that kept him from socializing with the village around him. I felt it was a

This was an enjoyable read. Lucien, the oldest in the family wants to return to France. However, now that his siblings have married English people, he needs to improve his English. Meg Church fills this role, of helping Lucien to improve his English. They had an attraction and although Lucien trend to fight against it, he was no match for Meg. I did find her to be quite bawdy in her speech and I did wonder if a woman would have spoken in this way, at this time. There is secret that Meg

Margaret “Meg” Church is happy with her life, she lives with her cousin Jemima and her husband Allan (who own the local dairy farm), she has friends and spends most of her time at the castle surrounded by people. She is visiting her newly married friend Eve when she learns that Lucien le Duc is planning on returning to France. Meg is disappointed, she can’t imagine anyone wanting to leave Cressmouth and she has long harbored a tendre for Lucien. And even though the le Ducs

The Duke's Desire is the eighth book in the 12 Dukes of Christmas series by Erica Ridley. It can easily be read as a standalone. I think if you haven't read the others in the series you will definitely want to after you read this one.

This book was an absolute joy to read, my face was aching from so much smiling by the time I got to the end. Having read the other books in the series, and loving them all, I think it's fair to say that this one is definitely my favourite so far. It had me laughing

This is exciting - my first ARC! Thanks Erica and NetGalley.

I requested this one because I've read the first 4 books in the series (she's releasing 4 every Christmas season, finishing the 12 next year) and fell in love with the world Erica Ridley has created. The town of Cressmouth's claim to fame is that they celebrate Christmas all year round and many sexy "dukes" in it.

The duke in this one is Lucien le Duc, eldest of the le Duc siblings who had to flee France during the revolution. His

The Duke's Desire by Erica Ridley is a laugh-out-loud kind of romance. Think of a romantic comedy combined with a historical romance and you get, The Duke's Desire. I found is refreshing. The way the leading female protagonist spoke was charming and hilarious. I loved her character! Meg spoke in such a blunt yet bold way. It even had her bestest lady friend plus, the leading Duke of Desire raising their eyebrows at her. The things she says...it was awesome. I cannot quote what she said; however, ...more

Book 8 in the 12 Dukes of Christmas
A scandalous spinster versus a blacksmith who is a French noble with the last name le Duc.
I was really looking forward to Lucien's story. He tries so hard for his family.
The heroine was an unpleasant surprise. She is a nice person, but I wasn't expecting her to be promiscuous. She has an active sex life for a small town in 1800s England.
This story was one big dirty joke. It uses terminology of the time, even quoting from Fanny Hill.

I read an ARC from Netgalley.

12 Dukes of Christmas #8

Lucien le Duc is a man who has had the goal of returning to France with his siblings since he first arrived in England many years ago. He has worked hard to earn enough to keep the family safe and keep them together even though what he was doing was not what he dreamed of. Recently both his brother and sister have found spouses so he might be returning to France alone. He has remained “French” even in his speaking until...something happens

OMG!!!! OMG!!! I would tell you to start with this one, however, that would be cheating yourself.

In book eight, Erica, has so far done the best "turgid", fun, comical, and best book I have read in years. I literally read it while working and finished reading it about 10 hours. So here goes my witty review.

I have waited for Lucien's and Meg's story knowing it would be something special and very different. I love all the books in the 12 Dukes of Christmas series but this is the best. One of the reason's is because it is very funny, very emotional, heartbreaking at times too. Meg Church is a spinster who does what she whats whenever she wants. She is outrageous, flirty, sexy and doesn't give a fig about her reputation. She has her cousin who she loves, the village of Cressmouth where it is Christmas ...more

The Duke's Desire, by Erica Ridley, will be available at booksellers on 12-24-19. A Christmas romance on Christmas eve! Desire is book 8 in Ms Ridley's series The 12 Dukes Of Christmas. I'm with her to the end. Trying to figure who will be duke 9 to 12 is a mystery I'm still trying to solve. So many choices. We're still in the village of Cressmouth, where is Christmas all year round.

With Duke's Desire we come to the end of the le Duc family. All the siblings are firmly in their HEA's. Ms Ridley

When I first started reading this book I wasn't sure I was going to like it. But then I fell in love. I never stood a chance against totally improper, unflappable, hysterically funny Meg Church. And the things that came out of this woman's mouth, oh, my gosh! She made me laugh so many times throughout the book. When I wasn't laughing, I was grinning. And pretty much everyone else in her vicinity ended up feeling her caring, her humor and were pulled into her "web".
Scowling Lucien never stood

Delightful, fun and flirty romance!

Meg is everything that Lucien is not. She's outspoken, flirty, adventurous, and wants nothing more than to live in Cressmouth forever. He's broody, taciturn, frustrated, and can't wait to return to France. What they have in common is a deep loyalty to their families and an undeniable attraction to each other.

The Duke's Desire is book eight in the 12 Dukes of Christmas series.
This one has been one of my favorites in the series. I loved reading about the older brother, Lucien le Duc, finding love in England when all along his plan was to go to back to France to reclaim his land and possessions and get married to a nice French girl.

What a hysterical romance. Such a quirky risqué heroine with her sexual metaphors. It was too funny. Meg's character was a delight to read. She is refreshing. Nothing like any other character so far in the series. She has an interesting family background that surprised me. As for the brooding Lucien his heart was touched by the innocence of his niece and nephew who were learning French and that was when he decided to really learn English. Finally, when Meg and Lucien got together for tutoring, ...more
