For Christmas this year I was gifted the throne of glass book, and I LOVED it so much, my favorite series ever, however, I hate romance and it makes me uncomfortable, so I kinda really fast skimmed through romance chapters. Since finishing I've been looking for a new series like it, and obviously I'm considering ACoTaR, but I've heard there's even more romance in it. Is it worth starting either way? Will the rest of the plot still make sense if I skip romance scenes? If it's not worth it, does anybody know other good fantasy series like ToG without so much romance/smut?

It is a good book, but depending on your tolerance for smut it might depend on whether you want to read it or not. THoSe scenes are a little long and descriptive, and i needed bleach for my eyes, but that may’ve just been me. However, the plot will make sense if you skip the romance scenes; there are two if I’m remembering right.
For other fantasy series, have you read Sorcery Of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson? It’s a really good YA fantasy, and has a little romance which is just kissing.

if you start on ACOTAR id say you need to push to book 2 - I found book one really shit and felt the story lacked but then resisting to book too. my mind is blown at the depth of the story.

not I have not read the other series you shared :)

best of luck
