As answered in the PM.

If anyone else is interested, the answer is in msg 2 of the Q&A thread; first up :)

Jane (PS) | 24338 comments Week 6

Option 1
8. Country
Read a book set in the country e.g. farm, ranch
For all the location/setting tasks, the book does not have to be solely set in that location; it simply needs at least one scene set there. The usual precise, main page, tag or list will need to be provided to show how the book qualifies.

In this case the following will work:
* the precis includes a reference to the country, ranch, farm etc
* the book is tagged/shelved with an appropriate reference to country, ranch, farm etc
* the book is set in the wilderness/remote areas
* the bookcover shows a country setting.

Please ask if you are not sure.

To insert links (book-link or list/shelf/tag-link) in your posts, please read these instructions in the Q&A thread:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Option 2
Key date: 3 November 2023
Team mate read on or after this date and rated at least 3 stars

Option 3
Pass

A selection post must be made for whichever option you choose - INCLUDING A PASS
Refer msg 3 in your team thread for formatting of all 3 options.

Yes - both work, unless it is clear in the precis that it is a cowboy living in the big smoke :)

The first one works for the cover.

The 2nd & 3rd books are too hard to see the background on ~ too full of the cover models, so they are a 'no'.

The 4th one works as it specifically says 'english countryside' in the precis. *EDIT* not because of its cover.

The list works.

'Small town' in Wyoming won't qualify.

However if you look at the other editions, there are bookcovers that will clearly make it qualify...

Use one of them :)

LaurLa | 5098 comments Hi Jane - will this cover qualify?

The Pride of Jared MacKade (The MacKade Brothers, #2) by Nora Roberts

or this one

Twisted Truths (Blood Brothers, #3) by Rebecca Zanetti

I think definitely this one by cover or precis:
"Olivia's father, Streeter, the rugged, green-eyed cattle rancher"
Spun Out (Blacktop Cowboys, #10) by Lorelei James
(also tagged country, rancher, cattle ranch...I think this is my choice!)

Definitely the second two books work. The first one is more iffy by that cover alone, however there is another cover that works, so its good too :)
