Read the first three chapters. Seems fun and inventive so far. I like the writing style. To me there are little glints of humor, enough to make me smile inwardly or outwardly, but not go overboard. E.g. Lots of acronyms and that gives more detail to the complaints about bureaucracy, but the acronyms don't spell out bad words like TURD. (I would roll my eyes.)
Anyway. I have some questions. How many people survived the catastrophes? Were changes like tentacles engineered purposefully to accomplish things, or "deformities" a result of environmental chemicals? Minh and Kiki seem very matter-of-fact about differences. I look forward to learning more about their world.

Too much is still unexplained. So, yes, many open questions. Also as a non-native English speaker, the acronyms are exactly where I am left behind...
I’m really curious as to how the beginning (brief) section of each chapter (about Shulgi) fits into the rest of the story….
Sabrina, the acronyms aren't in English, either. I mean, I was lost for a long time during the world-building. But I've finally gotten to the point where some of the stuff is explained, and we're getting to know the characters as people, and I'm glad that I persisted.
But, no surnames? Minh, Kiki, Hamid, that's their whole name? Implies that there aren't a whole lot of survivors from the apocalypse.
