Okay, good. I didn't want the knights to be disappointed in me if I didn't save the Easter Bunny myself. I will be glad to do my part. :)

Since this is a single player challenge, I tend to be a bit more loose on the tasks. You're always welcome to ask if you're unsure.
For the chef one I think it would be fine to do a baker or a private chef since they both make their living by cooking.

This is a monthly (2 month) reading challenge. It's based in the same world as the RPG challenge that's going on but doesn't overlap with it. It's very similar to the Quest to Save Christmas that we ran a few months back.

Thanks for the clarification.

Save Easter Quests - Part 2 Track the rabbit
The local children noticed something large stomping around the forest surrounding the town. They decided not to mention it to their parents for fear that they would be locked in their homes. The guard saw the Easter Bunny along the road collecting eggs for delivery on Easter. Talking to the bartender, you learn of a large troll that's been seen in the local area.
Putting together all your information in a truly brilliant fashion, you conclude that a troll probably has the Easter Bunny. Now, it's up to you to get him back!
Follow the Troll
You figure your best bet for finding the Easter Bunny is to track the troll back to his lair. You do your best to creep along without alerting the troll to your presence.
Read 2 books where there are tracks or something hidden on the cover or where a main character is a hunter or tracker to track the trolls.

Find the Easter Bunny
You managed not to step on any twigs (or at least any loud ones) and have located the troll lair. It's dank and dark and smells of wet troll. You muse that the trolls are remarkably unimaginative but conclude that that has never been an attribute often given to trolls. You see a small box made out of sticks containing the much loved Easter Bunny. You also see a small flock of prose peeps being held captive. You resolve to save them all.
Read a book with a farm animal on the front or one set on a farm or in the country to find the Easter Bunny.
Spy on the Cave
The troll lair is in a cave with a opening not much bigger than the size of a troll. They squat a bit each time they enter and exit the cave. You wonder how to see inside and wish slightly that some sort of x-ray machine exited. Remembering your alchemy lessons you set off to brew a potion of seeing.
Read a book with an eye on the cover, a book with an animal on the cover and a book with water on the cover. Shake and drink to see into the cave.

As for people hunting down an object or person, I'd base it on whether that's the main point of the book. If it's a military ops book and they're hunting down the bad guy for the whole book that's one thing. If someone's hunting down a pencil they misplaced for a page in the book then that doesn't count. :)

Great. I just read a book where the characters bet each other who could find a missing painting first. Tracking it down was the entire plot of the book. It sounds like it would work, then?

Great! I love reading a book on impulse and then finding I can use it somewhere. :)
Thanks.

Save Easter Quests - Part 2 Track the rabbit
(view spoiler)[
The local children noticed something large stomping around the forest surrounding the town. They decided not to mention it to their parents for fear that they would be locked in their homes. The guard saw the Easter Bunny along the road collecting eggs for delivery on Easter. Talking to the bartender, you learn of a large troll that's been seen in the local area.
Putting together all your information in a truly brilliant fashion, you conclude that a troll probably has the Easter Bunny. Now, it's up to you to get him back!
Follow the Troll
(view spoiler)[
You figure your best bet for finding the Easter Bunny is to track the troll back to his lair. You do your best to creep along without alerting the troll to your presence.
Read 2 books where there are tracks or something hidden on the cover or where a main character is a hunter or tracker to track the trolls.
(hide spoiler)]
Find the Easter Bunny
(view spoiler)[
You managed not to step on any twigs (or at least any loud ones) and have located the troll lair. It's dank and dark and smells of wet troll. You muse that the trolls are remarkably unimaginative but conclude that that has never been an attribute often given to trolls. You see a small box made out of sticks containing the much loved Easter Bunny. You also see a small flock of prose peeps being held captive. You resolve to save them all.
Read a book with a farm animal on the front or one set on a farm or in the country to find the Easter Bunny.

Spy on the Cave
(view spoiler)[
The troll lair is in a cave with a opening not much bigger than the size of a troll. They squat a bit each time they enter and exit the cave. You wonder how to see inside and wish slightly that some sort of x-ray machine exited. Remembering your alchemy lessons you set off to brew a potion of seeing.
Read a book with an eye on the cover, a book with an animal on the cover and a book with water on the cover. Shake and drink to see into the cave.

Save Easter Quests - Part 3 Make a plan

Map the Cave
(view spoiler)[
Any successful breaking and entering requires a detailed map of the site. You decide to use your potion of seeing to map out the cave so you can attempt a rescue and hopefully succeed without being turned into a pancake by angry trolls.
Read a book that is over 400 pages for some map paper, then read a skinny book under 100 pages for a pen. Read a book with the words (up, down, right, left, north, south, east or west) in the title to draw the map. The word may be part of a larger unrelated word (e.g. east in the word beast).
(hide spoiler)]
Plan the Rescue
(view spoiler)[
Another critical part of any rescue plan is the plan. In fact it's nearly impossible to pull off a rescue just winging it by the cuff of your tunic. To make a plan first you need an idea, preferably a good idea, but if not an average or even slightly poor idea can suffice. Then that idea must take shape and eventually transform into a plan. You assume it has something to do with a chemical reaction in the idea but it may very well be just a trick of the light.
Read a book with a lightbulb on the cover or is in the non-fiction category to get an idea. Then make it take shape by reading a book with a simple shape clearly on the cover or in the title. (e.g. See cover of Zero: The Biography of a Dangerous Idea or Masks of the Illuminati). Finally, read a book with a main character who's a chemist, a steamy romance with romantic chemistry or a book with light in the title to transform it into a plan.

Obtain the Supplies
(view spoiler)[
Your plan is coming together... you hope.... it just needs a few things to pull it off. Trolls like to eat, they also like to smash things. This is your main plan. You go off in search of the items to pull your plan together.
Read a book with a tree on the cover to gather some sticks. Read a book with food on the cover to gather a tasty treat. Hope that your plan is better than it sounds in your head by crossing your fingers.

Setup the Plan
(view spoiler)[
You lay out the plan in your head.
Step 1 - Sticks make box
Step 2 - Food goes in box
Step 3 - Dig large hole
Step 4 - Cover large hole with branches and leaves
Step 5 - Balance box on leaves
Step 6 - Wait for troll
You take a deep breath then setup your plan.
Read a book with a brown cover to dig a hole. Then read a book about construction or where a main character works in construction to setup the box.

Free the Bunny
(view spoiler)[
You wait off in the bushes at the side of the cave. The troll comes out. Sniffs around. You hold your breath. The troll takes out his giant club and WHACK! The box smashes open, the food sprays across the clearing, the leaves collapse, the troll is unbalanced and falls in the hole. You stare blinking at the clearing unsure of what you saw. Then quickly you recover and run inside to free the Easter Bunny!
Read a book about someone overcoming impossible odds. Miracles are way easier than you thought they were. Go buy some lottery tickets on your way back to town.

Save Easter
(view spoiler)[
You have saved Easter! The children rejoice! The dentists rejoice! The parent's groan with the added costs of new dental bills.
Take your victory lap and savor the outpouring of love. The Easter Bunny even leaves you some extra treats in your basket this year. Just remember not to trust the beans, you don't know where they come from.
Read a book where the family celebrates Easter or one with a rabbit on the cover. Enjoy your victory.
