Fiction/adult romance/ plot twist at the end: A male fbi agent or cop is framed for murder and ends up falling in love with a woman he goes into hiding with.

I can’t remember exactly the year I read this book but it was more than a few years ago. It was a free book from Amazon that I downloaded on my kindle. I do know that the male &’ female characters had a few sex scenes in the book &’ it was pretty graphic. I also remember that the female characters father was murdered and for some reason, she was tied into whatever was going on with the agent. I also remember a specific detail of the book: he found her in Haiti and he ended up getting shot and they needed to walk a few miles up a mountain in order for him to get treated.

If anyone has any idea of what book I’m talking about that would be great!!
