What are you reading in April 2015?

For AE - I'm going to TRY to read both Lexicon and The Windup Girl, but may just have to do TWG since it was my pick, lol.
FOF I definitely want to squeeze in Pines, and I have the ebook of The Innocent Mage, but I will probably not get to that one.
I want to read Invisible Monsters Remix for King group, since it was a last minute pick and I think that there might not be much participation (plus it looks interesting and I've never read Palahniuk before).
Also want to try to read The Nightingale for my HF group.
AND at some point in April, I'm going to participate in a buddy read with some friends and read Nineteen Seventy Four.

So overwhelmed with books right now. Plus hubby has been all about interrupting my reading for me to "do something productive."
Ugh.

That's not even counting the books I just want to read but don't have a group obligation for.
Abaddon's Gate, The Year of Reading Dangerously: How Fifty Great Books (and Two Not-So-Great Ones) Saved My Life, What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions, and The Stand (the "original" edited version, which I've never read).

There. I'm a poor fantasy fan, I realize. Thank you for listening. I CANNOT believe I'm considering abandoning a Robin Hobb book.
On a side note, I found The Ice Dragon at the used book sale yesterday. Pristine condition! I felt like I was stealing it from them...

Ooooh! The hardback illustrated?

Currently slowly working my way through The Innocent Mage. It's not entirely the book's fault that it's slow going - I've been very busy of late, and the copy I got is rife with typos and "translation" errors (from PDF to ebook, I think) - but the story itself isn't exactly riveting, either.

There's an illustrated?! No, just the newest book in the ongoing saga. I'm certain I'm 10 pages from an onslaught of story, and the writing has been stunning thus far. I just wish things were a bit less drawn out? To be fair, there have been plot developments. (view spoiler)

Sorry!
I was talking about The Ice Dragon.
I gave up on Hobb years ago when I realized she really REALLY put her characters through the wringer.

Yaaay!
Just finished Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews
Then I started (but its a WIP serial) Sweep in Peace by Ilona Andrews
Also reading Good Advice from Bad People: Selected Wisdom from Murderers, Stock Swindlers, and Lance Armstrong by Zac Bissonnette
I'm getting ready to start a series buddy read of the entire Kate Daniels series - starting with Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews culminating with the new book to be released!!! Already pre-ordered!
But I'm giving some serious thought to starting Bayou Moon by Ilona Andrews.
I'm starting to notice a trend...

I did just start Ready Player Oneon page 108 and since I just graduated High School in '82 it's easy to relate to.That and I'm a huge D&D fan.

I've read the Tamuli and the Elenium. For some reason I prefer the Belgariad.

Yes. I LOVE that.

The first thing I would advise anyone who is interested in the latter would be "patience". This book has had me on edge (ha!) and halfway to losing my s#!t because of all of the suspense, changes in perspective - timewise, and unanswered questions. So far, however, its been worth it , despite an awkward plot twist or two.

Yes, the Ice Dragon is the Illustrated hardcover ;)
I may have to follow you and give up on Hobb. It makes me sad. I love the Fool.

I love, love, loved Ready Player One!

I am currently reading The Buried Giant. It's been slow to unfold, but atmospheric so far!

Only a couple of chapters in, so can't really pass judgement, but it's enjoyable so far.
Also reading Sallust's work (almost finished the Jugurthine War). Liking it, and the Jugurthine War's more interested and easier to follow than Catiline's shenanigans.

Yeah, Laurel. I do see that Hobb takes awhile to get off the ground sometimes. I do love her character studies though, and it feels like home to read through it.
And I do like that this series has a Laurel charcter too. Hehe

Shogun is so awesome! Are you reading or listening to the audio?

The only way I can think to describe it is Agatha Christie meets Stephen Kind, on an island in the deep south with a storm rolling in. A hell of a novella!

I finished Lexicon last night and am considering continuing the Edge series with Bayou Moon. However, I would really like to get another Group Read (either FoF or AE) under my belt so I may choose a standalone from the list.
I haven't decided as yet.

Reading the ebook. Which means I've gotten distracted from it by Pines. My audio right now is the Hobb..

I haven't decided as yet. "
Instead of reading either of the above, I’ve started The Android’s Dream, per recommendation. This book is absolutely ridiculous, and at times groan-worthy, but in entertaining ways. I can't help but wonder what will happen, despite myself.

Right now, listening to Pratchett's Small Gods (almost done and loving it) and reading Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham. (1950s scifi).

Nyssa,
I thought Android's Dream was a hoot! I enjoyed Fuzzy Nation and Lock In immensely. I liked the heart and soul of both books, combined with some action and humour. He has a nice touch in sci fi that I think few can pull off. Scalzi is an automatic purchase for me.
I hope you enjoy more of his work!

Cool. I plan to continue The Android's Dream, although, Magic Bites is now calling to me.

lol!
I've been reading IA's "off" books: the Kinsmen series and her free stuff. So good.

There are a bunch of books I want to read this month from FoF and AE. Plus Pratchett.
