EL | 3 comments I read this saga in 2020/2021 in form of a kindle e-book in USA. It was included in kindle unlimited subscription. The saga consisted of at least 3 books, but likely more. The author had an english name. The book likely came out in USA.

The saga followed an orphan girl who makes her way back to her ancestors shrine and trains there to be a fighter. It is set in a post-war world, war between clans/shrines, and there is a deadly fog that comes and turns everyone dead in a manner of seconds.

Spoilers ahead

The girl sets on a journey behind the great wall where the spirits of the deceased are stuck, including her parents. The girl becomes a great fighter. The book includes a lot of fighting scenes, martial-art style with some supernatural kicks. The girl has a cricket (?) that allows her to jump great distances. The girl meets friends along the way on her journey, including a fisherman who is a veey good man and her best friend, and a prince (?). At some point, they get to a frozen land where there is an ancient civilization (or something like that). Ancient dictators wake up from long winter sleep or something like that.. they visit a lot of beautiful cities, castles, they mostly travel via a boat and walking. In later books, when the girl grows up, she becomes pregnant and her son is supposed to be prince or king. She is at some point in a big castle but I think she is a prisoner there ? In later books, there are people who turn into dragons, and there are dragon fights. The saga is filled with action, supernatural, romance, and all kinds of emotion. Despite being set more in ancient Asia, the climate sort of reminds GoT with the wall, the deadly fog, the evil rulers, and the dragons.

Idk why I can only recall bits and pieces of it but I rememeber I really enjoyed it and read it super fast so maybe thats why. Id love to come back to this saga and read it again! Anyone recognizes this fantasy saga?
