SOLVED. Native American Children’s Picture book about a boy

My mom is trying to remember the name of a book from her childhood (the 70s but the book may not have been published in that decade) about a Native American boy (she can’t remember the specific tribe) whose name sounds like EE-JOE-GEE (soft G sound). She can’t remember how to spell it.

Book details she can remember:
Each page was illustrated almost like paintings. Very colorful and thick paper.
The cover might be blue with a boy running

She wanted to find it at her mother’s house and had intended on asking her when her mother suddenly passed before she got the chance. We have combed the house but can’t find it. Hoping to get the title to help the search or get a new copy.
