Do you read several books at the same time, or do you wait until you finish one to start another?

I only read 2 books at once if one is science-y or self-help (not for entertainment), in which case I will read this one in smaller increments to better absorb it, while also reading something for fun.

For me, it really depends. If I'm really into a book I'll just read that one, but if sometimes I'm in the mood to read a different genre from the one I'm already reading, I'll start another one and read both at the same time.
Now, though, I was reading three at a time because one was for my book club, another was for studying/self-improvement, and the one I wanted to read just because.

I read 1 physical book and do 1 audiobook at a time. I work alone, so I put my earbuds in and listen to whatever audiobook I have at the time and I only listen to it while working.

I just checked and right now I'm in the middle of 10 books (it's a bit of a problem) some of them are more like comfort books that I don't really need to pay as much attention to and there isn't much of a consistent storyline that I have to keep track of (I am a Cat)

It varies. I might read a single book at a time or I might read eighteen books at the same time. I might take a break from a book for months and then continue, or finish another few books in the break. I might read in parallel, but I usually prefer not to (it doesn't work out when I'm addicted-just-cannot-put-it-down.)

I love the intimacy of giving my whole heart to a single book, it leaves a clear and often nostalgic memory in my mind of the time I spent reading it. Especially if I loved the book!
