I thought it sounded great, but there were things I didn't like about it. It was ok -- I gave it 3 stars. From the very beginning, it was off for me. He time-travels, but there is never any amazement at how different things are. In fact, because of this, my brain kept thinking of Nick as a modern man, even though he was from the 1800's. There are times it picks up and is interesting and other times it drags. Maybe you'll like it better than I did. (Sorry for the somewhat negative review...)

Having said that, Tien, I do have to add that I will try the second book (it's obviously going for a series). This was a first novel by the author and I do think it has promise, even if I didn't like the beginning of it :)
