Will also told the boy stories about his time in the war. When he was in the war he befriended a boy named Sandy who turned out to be a girl in disguise. He and Sandy fell in love later and it is revealed that Sandy and Will were the boy's ancestors. Near the end of the book, the boy is searching for his grandma's missing will. He gets a hint from Will and finds it in a secret hiding spot where his grandma also used to hide during hide-and-seek. At some point in the book the boy got sick with scarlet fever. The boy also had canopy bed at his grandma's and he made can-o-pee jokes and his dad also made a lot of puns.

This is an elementary level book. I don't when it was written, but I encountered it somewhere from 2016-2018
