Anne | 70 comments I hate that in a lot of the ‘not a Bennet’ stories she’s a cousin of Darcy’s. I don’t like that.

In Interior of a Family she’s related to Hurst. I highly recommend this one!

message 8: by Linda (new)

Linda | 135 comments Thanks Sam and Anne! I've read most of these, but a few are new.

Anne, I really like Interior of a Family. I like when they expand Hurst's character, because he's barely sketched in P&P.

Also a good one!

Sam H. | 434 comments I don't know how I find the time to read new ones, when there are so many excellent ones to reread!

message 14: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 434 comments Can't recall where this scene is from:
Elizabeth was widowed from Col. F and she is staying in their town house. Darcy is there but so are many of the Col's compatriots and one or two express interest in her?
She may or may not have a son...
It isn't The Widow Elizabeth or Darcy's Deliverance (maybe?). I don't think it is the April Floyd trilogy either, but again, can't really recall.

So far, Facebook is stumped.

wosedwew | 210 comments I don't think it is There You Were: A Pride & Prejudice Variation.

The FFindex shows a lot of unpublished Elizabeth/Colonel F pairings.

Maybe one of these:

abmom | 71 comments Could it be Pride and proposals by Victoria Kincaid?

message 17: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 434 comments Someone else suggested Pride and Proposals. I need to check it and will see.

message 18: by Anji (new)

Anji | 167 comments Hi Sam, just popped in and saw this. Your mystery book has some similarities to Pride and Proposals: A Pride and Prejudice Variation by Victoria Kincaid however, Elizabeth and the Colonel weren’t married. She’d accepted his proposal at Hunsford and Darcy went overseas. When he came back, E was living in what would have been the marital home and getting visited by potential suitors. No child involved.

message 19: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 434 comments Maybe that is the one, I will check. Thank you

message 20: by Anne (new)

Anne | 70 comments I’m looking for a variation where Mr Knightley and Darcy want to take care of their problem relatives. Not through nefarious means but Mrs Bennet is a widow and Mr Woodhouse, well we know he’s a problem. They become matchmakers. I have such a bad memory and thanks in advance.

message 21: by wosedwew (new)

wosedwew | 210 comments I have read that -- I need to think!

Thank you! I never would have figured it out! It’s a fun story.

message 25: by wosedwew (new)

wosedwew | 210 comments Thanks, Katja. I never would have found this one.

The Amazon listing shows only a paperback. If you would prefer to read on Kindle, the story is part of this anthology:
A Very Austen Noel

abmom | 71 comments I remember reading a story(probably unpublished) in which after ODC'S marriage, the Colonel visits Pemberley and creates a situation as if he and Elizabeth are having an affair. Darcy throws Elizabeth out and she's pregnant and is sent to an isolated cottage by her father where she gives birth to a daughter and later Darcy comes and fetches her but doesn't still believe her. Later when he discovers that his cousin's motive is his property. Does anyone recognises this?

message 28: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 434 comments That question just came up on Facebook too. I think it would make a great audiobook!

Y’all were so fast with my other one I’m going to ask another. I originally found it through AHA LFAS but it was unfinished. I tried asking there to no avail.

In it, Mrs Hurst was deliberately dressing Miss Bingley badly because Caroline was color blind. Elizabeth figured it out and that was it.

I’m wondering if:

It was ever finished?

Did I imagine the whole thing?

edit: i was thinking of Miss Bingley's persuasion but she is proud of designing her own fashions there

I’m not sure.

Linda, it was not that one. Thank you though.

Linda | 135 comments I read a story a while ago. Mr. Bennet got sick and Mrs. Bennet forced Elizabeth to marry Mr. Collins. When Mr. Bennet got better, he was irate. E was able to get an annulment, I believe to be with Darcy.

message 37: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 434 comments Is this Letters from the heart? It's the sad one where Collins if violent and abusive. Lady C helps her as much as she can, and it's mostly told in letters.
Even though the marriage is 'complete' she wrote her name wrong and didn't say I will, so on a technicality she gets free. Or does Collins die in the end?

There is another where It isn't quite as traumatic and Elizabeth pretends she is sick or with her monthlies and Collins is so stupid he goes a long with it. Until Lady C makes him put his foot down But by that time she has help from family and friends. I can't recall the name of this one tho.

Hmm I think I am getting 2 books cross-mixed...

As Sam says, it could be Letters from the Heart by Kay Bea but I seem to remember that Collins eventually dies in that. It’s heart-rending for quite a bit of the story, especially when reading the letters Elizabeth writes during her marriage to him. She has to learn to trust again and Darcy has to be patient with her before they get to their HEA.

message 39: by wosedwew (new)

wosedwew | 210 comments The only one I know where Elizabeth gets an annulment is Implacable Resentment by Jann Rowland. Darcy intervenes with the church. Elizabeth holds Collins out of her BR by getting him drunk then claiming her monthlies last all month.

I don't remember any other Elizabeth/Collins marriages where Collins doesn't die.

message 40: by Anne (new)

Anne | 70 comments I’m more looking for an author but I remember her introduction said she started by writing fan fiction for The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. I just watched this finally and see why there’s fan fiction about it.

Does anyone have any recommendations for LBD fan fiction?

Thanks in advance.

I think I was confusing multiple books. I think the one I was remembering is Letters from the Heart

I read that not too long ago. But I agree it has the sadness. I think I might try Silence Implies Consent: Pride and Prejudice sequel soon. That is incredibly sad.

Anji | 167 comments Have you read Consequences by C. P. Odom? The first half of that is heart wrenching.

message 48: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 434 comments Oh yes, both are angst ridden. and tear-jerky

message 49: by abmom (new)

abmom | 71 comments Which is the book in which Elizabeth has epilepsy?

message 50: by abmom (new)

abmom | 71 comments I remember reading a crossover of Pride and Prejudice with Persuasion in which Elizabeth stays near Kellynch hall and Darcy is also visiting the area and Walter Elliot tries to compromise Darcy into marrying his daughter Elizabeth. Does anyone recall anything of this story?
