This will be a tough one for me. I don't think I have many or any nonfiction on my shelf.

I've got a few biographies and some books on Autism. A good one would be The Reason I Jump The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism by Naoki Higashida written by an boy with Autism that explains how he feels

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin | 695 comments I have a few biographies laying around here and stuff like that. Just digging them out :-/

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin | 695 comments I found some non fiction under listopia on here. They have one of my books I have listed. I also wondered if we can use a memoir as the book. I won one in a good reads give away I need to read.

Memoirs, autobiographies, textbooks etc anything like that is non-fiction so it will work for this challenge. I will add some links soon, had to sleep and have to head out for most of the morning so will put links up later on when I get back on the computer tonight.

Those books you read or listened to that Chelsea Handler wrote would work well with this challenge i.e. if you haven't read all of her work.

Savannah | 312 comments I'm so excited for this week! I LOVE history so I've got some awesome nonfiction books!

I'm going to pick either Sex with the Queen 900 Years of Vile Kings, Virile Lovers, and Passionate Politics by Eleanor Herman , Sex with Kings 500 Years of Adultery, Power, Rivalry, and Revenge by Eleanor Herman , Behind the Palace Doors Five Centuries of Sex, Adventure, Vice, Treachery, and Folly from Royal Britain by Michael Farquhar , or A Treasury of Royal Scandals The Shocking True Stories of History's Wickedest, Weirdest, Most Wanton Kings, Queens, Tsars, Popes, and Emperors by Michael Farquhar . So scandalous! :-) Oooh, or maybe The Six Wives of Henry VIII by Alison Weir ! I'm so excited for this week! :-)

The books I chose, apart from the last one, are all really funny, at least to me. They're about crazy royals who make really, really bad decisions. :-)

When I was a kid, instead of reading me fairy tales and stories, my dad read nonfiction history books to me, usually World War II or The War Between the States (Civil War to most :-) and I loved it. It may seem inappropriate to read about wars to a little kid but I plan on doing exactly the same thing; it instilled an extreme love of history into me and led to a lot of two-person vacations to battlefields. My mom and sister didn't think that battlefield trips and battle reenactments were very "vacation-like", but we loved them, and we still do! :-)

That's awesome Savannah and I don't find it inappropriate at all. When you get older and read the same fairy tales you were read to as a child you realize how demented some of them are. I mean really, think about it.

Exactly! Especially if you read the originals! Some of the original fairy tales are more bloody and depressing than any war story.

I finished The Reason I Jump The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism by Naoki Higashida and it made me really sad knowing my little Archer is probably feeling the same way as Naoki does. It's very insightful and through the sadness, I can see that this book gives me hope…https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Sylvia, if the book is as beautiful and moving as your review of it, then I really can't wait to read it. I just added it to my TBR. One of the best reviews I've ever read and the only review that has 100% made the decision whether or not to read the book for me. I'm so glad that it was able to give you so much clarity and hope. Not many books can do that, no matter how good they are. You, your son and the rest of your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I didn't know that about your son. Bless him my friend has a son with autism and she has had a hard time all of his life being a single mom her other son helps as much as he can. She's torn now that he is an adult to put him in a home for adult children with autism. He says he would like to but she's nervous. They have it set up so they can be a little independent. But as you know that's her child and she wants to do what's best for him. I can't imagine what you moms go through. Bless all of you. ❤️

Thank you so much for your love and kind words, Tracy, Belkis, Savannah and Melissa <3 we do have a wonderful family and great support system but nothing is ever enough knowing how much your child suffers and not being able to do anything but love and comfort him when he is feeling this way. So many times I've wanted to take his pain away for him and I would do it time and time again, forever. It's comforting to know that there is hope and every day is a brand new day. We just have to keep on going no matter what.

Savannah, I'm so glad you have felt inspired to read the book. It's written and translated so simply yet it's speaks volumes. I hope you enjoy reading it and please let me know when you get the chance to.

Melissa, that feeling, knowing you can't do anything else for your child is crippling and your friend is at that place. Having to do what she is about to do is something I fear most of all, because as parent's we never want to give up or feel we can't take care of our children, no matter how old they are. It will be good for him to be independent and be out on his own, but my heart ache's for her. Sometimes places like that do weekend stays so that they are there some of the time but not all of the time. I hope she makes the right decision for her son, and herself, but it's going to be a difficult one no matter what. Prayers are with her <3
