I’m reading
, When You Care: The Unexpected Magic of Caring for Others by Elissa Strauss. It’s a Great Scientific Look at the Value of Care. Often Care Work is Unpaid or highly Underpaid and not Valued. Feminist look at the Value being Imparted.
, Shelterwood, by Lisa Wingate just getting into. Have been trying to read, but had a few books to finish first. Seems good so far
, Long Island by Colum Toibin Really loved Brooklyn and also the movie. This is a Sequal. Hope it lives up to expectations.
, The Housemaid's Secret Freida McFadden think will try to Read with Audio. Housemaid just read and Fast and Fun Read.

I have finished reading
.La Prisonnière du highlander: Une romance historique de voyage dans le temps en ÉcosseThis is a time travel book about the seemingly impossible love between modern day Amy from Vermont and Craig, a highland chieftain from the 1300s.Overall, I enjoyed it and liked the historical details and beautiful descriptions of the Scottish highlands and Vermont.
I have finished reading
The Pumpkin Spice Café. Overall, I think that this book did deliver on a story about a cafe in autumn however I found it did not really hold my attention and I did not love it as much as I had hoped.
I have started reading
The Return. All good so far.

my Lost Story review. I thought it was a wonderful reimagining of Narnia, but with a pretty abrupt ending."
Hello Kristie,
I have noticed that here you posted your review, entitling it as 'my Lost Story review'. I have tried to work out how this is done on Goodreads but totally failed. If possible, please could you explain to me how you did it.
Hi Susan - Sure! It is html code. You really need to do it online because you need to copy and paste the website link for your review. You type what is below replacing your information as noted.
When you are online you can click on "(some html is ok)" above the text box and copy/paste the code for "link" instead of typing it all out.

Changes: Below the first blue line, between the quotation marks, you want to change the https website. Just copy & paste from your review page. Then, above the second blue line where it says "my link text" you replace that with whatever you want it to say.
Just a note - This will only work with linking pages within Goodreads. In an effort to reduce scamming GR has put a filter on it that doesn't allow outside links anymore.
Hope that makes sense!

Thanks very much for your help, Kristie.
I finished When You Care: The Unexpected Magic of Caring for Others, Elissa Strauss, Excellent Feminist Book on the Importance on Care for Children, Disabled, and the Elderly. I think I might finish Shelterwood Lisa Wingate Learning lots of Information. HF set in Oklahoma. Dual Time-Line and like the one set earlier in 1909. Like the Character, Olive the Best.
I just finished Looking for Jane, by Heather Marshall. Really thought the author did lots of research, especially since this was a debut novel.
Still, Reading Long Island, Colm Toibin. Got book and Audio from Libby, due soon, so we be sure to Read that one.
I have finished reading
The Return. This is the first book that I have read by Nicholas Sparks and I enjoyed it. I liked the characters, the mysteries, the relationships and the lyrical descriptions. I also learned a lot about bees.
I've read a few good ones this month already:
- my Nature of Disappearing review
- my Dog Day Afternoon review
- my Paradise Problem review
- my Beyond That, the Sea review
I'm currently reading The Frozen River and enjoying it as well.

I just finished several good books.
, Lisa Wingate. Always find her books so emotional and touching since they expose neglect toward children that usually did not know about.
, Beatriz Williams. This was a Juicy Book, with Dual timeline from Egypt to Island off Long Island. Involves Adoption, Intrigue, Affairs, Love, Mystery, and First Love. Really liked this one.
, by Freida McFadden. Milla is back and sure everyone read this one already. It’s a fast paced book that keeps you reading. Fun, to read this series
I just finished
, How to Say Babylon, by Safiya Sinclair This was a very well written Memoir, but I had to stop several times since it was hard to read how this woman grew up. She was from Jamaica and her father became a Rastafarian. Women were considered inferior and had to be obedient. She endured much abuse at the hands of her father.

Dark Guardian by Christine Feehan. A vampire and his life mate fight against her adversary Taylor Drake.
I have finished reading
The Thursday Murder Club I found it an entertaining read with a positive slant on our older years. Best for me in short doses.
I DNF'd Wolfsong it was a choice for a book club but this genre is really not for me. Now just started The Word is Murder and 8 Lives of a Century-Old Trickster both much more up my street.
