Unofficial Year's End Readathon 2023

We will not be hosting a full readathon for New Year's Eve, but many of us are reading, readathon style, anyway. So, unofficially we may as well have a Dewey's readathon weekend from now through as much of January 1st as you wish to include. Let's send out 2023 in good form and usher in the new year with some great, quality reading. What are you reading?

I am halfway through The Mountain in the Sea by Ray Nayler. Technological, Social, and Ecological science fiction mixed together.

I plan to read both
The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin.
Gimpel the Fool and Other Stories by Isaac Bashevis Singer

I won't be staying up tonight (I've gotten little enough sleep in the last week lol) but I will be reading a lot for the rest of today, as well as tomorrow.

Alas, I will once again be carrying over unfinished books to the new year, but I hope to finish both Under Heaven and The Dead Girlfriend. Under Heaven will be a major challenge. If I'm very ambitious I might also finish Pierre and Jean.

I the world of nonfiction, I just finished Being Peace by Thich Nhat Hanh.

And I made progress with Poverty, by America by Matthew Desmond.

I usually focus more on fiction during a readathon but I was already in the middle of these.

I started and finished The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin

I started--about 1/3 through--Gimpel the Fool and Other Stories. Dark fairy-tale stories for adults. Too much emotionally/spiritually to take in one day. I will continue on--slowly, considering and pondering.
