PeachesAndPaper | 1 comments Hi everyone! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
My Name is Lea and I‘m a uni-student from Germany.
I read mostly in English with the occasional book in my native language.

My favourite genre are all kinds of Fantasy and Sci-Fi, with some horror books sprinkled in there as well 🐉
Science based self-improvement books are also right up my alley!
I did join this group last year but ended up busy with studying and forgot about goodreads.

My Goal this year is to switch out unproductive habits like doomscrolling+ watching tiktok and read instead. I used to read a ton as a pre-teen-teen and I wanted to get back into it. My GoodReads Goal is 40 books so far, but I‘ll adjust according to my pace during the year 🤗
Here’s to hoping I can make some friends along the way as well!

Jess (jessicaclairem) | 1 comments Hi! I’m Jess. 😊 I’m 33 and from the UK. I was an avid reader growing up and went on to study English Literature at university. I graduated 10 years ago and will admit that my love for reading dwindled after completing my degree. I’ve set myself a goal of 30 books this year as my TBR pile is forever growing so need to put the effort in and get through them before buying more books that will just sit and gather dust on the shelf! Hoping to rediscover my passion for reading and reduce the amount of time I spend staring at screens in my free time. Looking forward to the challenge and also hoping to get some recommendations from you all along the way. ☺️🫶🏻

Mikaela. | 1 comments Hello, my name is Mikaela, im 21 and im from Slovakia :) I found this group from my new friend on GR. I’m fan of reading since I can remember! They already knew me at our local book library, as I was so often there, always nose stuck in a book. It was fun to watch myself grow and change my reading preferences since childhood. Now i’m mostly fan of young adult, fantasy, fiction and contemporary books. I find myself lacking these days with reading, so I’m looking for a new motivation to read :)

Ḳristina | 4 comments Hi everyone! I'm Kristina and I am currently living in Adelaide, South Australia. All genres interest me frankly. I'm a lover of books, well-written books, period. I found this group amid my decision to get serious about my reading goals for 2024. I'm glad I did as I'm well on track to accomplish it - currently 3 books completed out of my goal to finish 34 for 2024! I would love to meet more people and make connections here. :)

message 74: by Anne (new)

Anne | 5 comments Hello all!
I'm Anne, from Kansas City metro area.
I've been trying to branch out, but I always fall back to my comfortable fantasy books. My current favorite (it changes all the time) is Jennifer Estep's Spider Assassin series, and Tea Dragon Society.
I found out about here from a roundabout look at the Book Riot's Read Harder challenge.
My reading goal - well I read a ton, but last year I failed my mark (well not really, I just got caught up in reading fanfic, and not published books) which wasn't bad, but it does mean I won't be able to do good reader's advisory if I keep up the trend. So I want to read at least 3 published books a month. And still keep up with my fanfic addiction :D

Sade | 1 comments Hey!! I’m Sade (Sha-day) I’m from NYC. I got back into reading a little over a year ago. Can’t really say that I have a favorite genre just yet, but I’ve really been loving contemporary fiction/romance & psychological thriller/murder mystery books. I’ve been branching out more into Fantasy/Sci-Fi. And looking to branch out to other genres, so if anyone has a good book rec, pls share!

I do, however, have a favorite book
• All My Mothers by Joanna Glen

I found this group just by searching up challenges and groups that I feel fit me best right now.
My reading goal for last year was 50 books and I noticed I wasn’t enjoying reading as much (felt pressured). So this year I set it to 30. So far, so good!

I’m hoping that this year I can keep on reading through life’s busy periods so that I can make my way through my goal for 2024.
I don’t have a specific favourite genre, I like to work my way through many different kinds of books but find that I always need a fast paced light romance or something similar to break up the heavier subject matters.
