I am not…but will happily find books to read for what we need, lol 😂

Laura | 2892 comments That’s why I’m trying to fill in the second tasks for the drinks because cover color and text color tasks are easier to fit.

And the writing for Say Goodbye totally works for Orange!

message 308: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2892 comments I have this book: Free Me (WITSEC, #4) by Ashley N. Rostek . The captain's group said that the background looks dark pink. But the main character is being hunted by a serial killer, who does have a POV in the story, so it's not just a hunt, but he's a character. I think that would work for Hannibal Lector. So my question is, is anyone reading a book with a pink cover, or a book that would work for Hannibal Lector's Red Wine Spritzer. So red wine on the cover, or a character really likes red wine.

I have another pink cover, but since we only have one Reverse left and Paula is reading for it, I was going to save this pink one for next month.

Laura | 2892 comments Here's a quick update.

Color cards - We have 3 greens left. Cindy is reading a green that works for the Skip or the 6. I have found 2 short greens that I can read.

Mini challenge: We have 8 tasks left in the top portion.
Daryl van Horne's Bloody Mary
Paula - Read a book with a white cover.

Mayday's Tuxedo
Paula - Read a book with a yellow cover.

Agent Smith' Margerita
Laura - Read a book that relates to the cocktail - for example: the cover features a flower, a character is called Margerita... Wilted Orchid by Loxley Savage

Scar's Lion Tail
Laura - Read a book with an orange cover.

Mean Girls' Stiletto
Laura - Read a book with a pink cover.

Wicked Witch of the West's Brass Monkey
Cindy - Read a book with a green cover. (We have 3 green covers coming. We can use one of them here and the 2 with the best stuff for a drink name in the second section)
Laura - Read a book that relates to the cocktail - for example: the book features a monkey, the cover shows an item made of brass... The Mystery of the Brass Bound Trunk: Nancy Drew Mystery Stories

Patrick Bateman's Death in the Afternoon
- Read a book with black writing on the cover.

For the second section, the drink names, we can do up to 25 books. We have 4 books for this section already.

So, to finish the mini challenge, we need 29 more books. Which works well because we need 32 more books to finish our hands for the month!

Our hands for April have been added to the spreadsheet. There's a lot of color on there, especially Yellow! I'll be posting about those cards tomorrow. I don't want to overwhelm anyone with next month while we're still working to finish this month!

message 319: by Laura (last edited Mar 25, 2024 06:38PM) (new)

Laura | 2892 comments Everybody take a deep breath and start searching through your color covers!

For the month of April, we've got a new twist. There are no more Draw 4 cards. They have been replaced with the OVERLOAD card. Overload cards are cover color cards. But, they have no number requirement associated with them. And the colors are:

- purple
- pink
- orange
- brown
- grey
- white
- black

Each color can only be used once, so we'll need to coordinate these. We have 4 of these cards.

Our other color cards this month:

Yellow 2 - Sarah
Yellow Skip
Yellow 4
Yellow 1 - Laura
Yellow 5 - Laura
Yellow 3 - Laura
Yellow 9 - Cindy
Yellow 8 - Laura
Yellow 7 - Sarah

Red 5
Red 4
Red Skip - Cindy
Red 7 - Laura (works for 9)
Red 9

Green 3 - Sarah
Green Skip - Laura
Green 2 - Cindy (works for 1, 3, Skip)
Green 1 (x2) - Laura, Laura

Blue Skip - Laura
Blue 5

Laura | 2892 comments I can do:

Yellow 5 - Loud Mouth (Ice Knights, #3) by Avery Flynn
Yellow 1 - Chase and the Girl Who Came Back (New Hope World #1) by Amber Davis

Green 3 or Skip - Weyward by Emilia Hart
Yellow 8 - The Unhoneymooners (Unhoneymooners, #1) by Christina Lauren
Yellow 3 - Beach Read by Emily Henry
Blue Skip - A Curse So Dark and Lonely (Cursebreakers, #1) by Brigid Kemmerer
Red 7 or 9 - A Grave Robbery (Veronica Speedwell, #9) by Deanna Raybourn

I'm hoping to get this one from the library in time to use for the Yellow 7. It looks like a 2-3 month hold, but I'm hoping it goes faster. The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston

Yellow is the worst! I often have to go to my historical fiction books for those. The ones where the woman's dress takes up a lot of the cover.

Love the train of thought!

What if we removed "endless" and replaced with "sweet"

Hades & Persephone's Sweet Terrors - reminds me of what a good idea I think a drink/shot is (sweet), and the terror that comes after, lol
