I’ve noticed my 7 yellow didn’t get used. It has a character beginning with V and has a yellow cover. Wasn’t it ok? I want to help as much as I can so just wondering so I know for future what was wrong.

It's got to have at least half the cover in yellow, and this looks like about 30% to me.
Every book counts, and there's really no more value in reading a colored book than a not colored book in terms of completing the hand. We mark those and the other named cards because it's easiest to fill in those first on the hands. You are definitely contributing!
I will definitely update The Ex, and thank you.

March Mini Information!
I've posted the official info on the first page, but we'll be adding some extra suggestions for elements relating to each cocktail (part 1) and some suggestions for cocktail naming (part 2) as we get started on the challenge.
Remember, you can start your March Mini books at any point, but you can't finish them until 15 March. And, regular books should count for the Mini Challenge.

More Mini Info!
Any book you finish today (15 March) or after can be used for the mini challenge.
Books used for this mini challenge do not need to be separate books from what you are claiming for your UNO hands.
You can only use a book for the mini challenge once--either Part 1 or Part 2.
The usual book length rules apply.
Lisa has again added tabs for the mini-challenge. Please include this info in your completion posts or on the spreadsheet from now on.
Part 1
In order to complete the Mini Challenge, we need to read books that correspond to the following drinks. The mods have restricted the first category (cover or cover writing color), but the second category is up to us. Lisa and I teamed up with some friends on Team Gaston to brainstorm some options for things that relate to the book. You may certainly come up with your own, but be sure to include that info on the spreadsheet or completion post.

Part 2
We'll be creating cocktail names with elements from our books.
You can use anywhere between two and six elements from each book to create a name for your cocktail along the lines of what the mods have done for the team names. The more books we use, the more points we get--we get 10 points per book.
These are the elements you can use from your books - any combination of these works:
- book title
- series title
- author name
- item on cover
- cover colour (no matter how much of it is found on the cover as long as one can actually detect it with the naked eye)
- name from the story (any character or named creature, you could even use the cat's name if you like)
- setting of the story (can be the entire setting, can be the setting of a single scene, whatever works for your creation)
The names of your cocktails do not have to be villain/troublemaker inspired. You could create a Miss Piggy's Pink Umbrella if you wanted. Or a Little Miss Sunshine's Bellini.

Hello, cardsharks! We are doing so well. We have just a few cards to fill in our hands and we're nearly done with part 1 of the mini. I can make a cocktail name out of anything (former bartender), so be sure to log everything you read, even if it doesn't seem to fit what we've got left. Every part 2 mini book is worth 10 points. We were in 3rd place after Round 1, so let's keep reading.
Please be sure your books are on your Uno shelf so that I can verify them and they can be counted.
We do have a few hand cards to complete (and because Lisa is a whiz at making things work and moving things around, please do be sure you've included all the ways they fit).
Cards claimed but books not completed:
Skip Yellow The Last Russian Doll (Melis)
Wild Draw 4 The Wife Upstairs (Melis)
Reverse Guilt by Association (Lisa)
If you're not going to be able to finish books you've claimed, please let us know or take them off the sheet so we can move things around or add to our reading.>
We still need books to fit:
7 (2 assigned but not read; 2 unassigned)
4
1
3 (assigned but not read)
6 (1 assigned but not read; 2 unassigned)
That's 4 more 7/V books, and they are always hard to find, and 3 more 6/S books, so keep your eyes out.
Here's what's left for the mini--if you've got books that work and can fit them in, that would be great.
🤴🏻Prince Septimus' Last Word--Read a book with pink writing on the cover.

Hey just to show you I did complete the ex by Frieda mcfadden, it was on March 11th. Not trying to be sound rude. Just keeping us both right.

Assuming we all get our books read (and I have total faith... 2 of them are mine), we will complete March Mini Part 1.
That means that we can work on completing part 2. If you could please include as much of this info as possible in the "words" slot of March Mini Part 2 or your completion post, we can turn those into cocktails. If you want to make a cocktail, definitely go for it. I'll do some checking at the end.
And please be sure to include your finished books on your Uno bookshelf!
- series title
- author name
- item on cover
- cover colour (no matter how much of it is found on the cover as long as one can actually detect it with the naked eye)
- name from the story (any character or named creature, you could even use the cat's name if you like)

Title: The Wife Upstairs
Author: Rachel Hawkins
Item on Cover: flowers
Color on Cover: Blue, White, Purple
Name: Bea, Eddie, Jane, Adele(dog)
Setting: Alabama, Lake House

Would be good to see what’s needed for main cards and if any colours needed I know I can look at ss but find it confusing

Cool thanks

Hello, cardsharks!
With just over a week to go, we are basically finished. I assigned books to the 1 and 6 missing above. For the main hands, we are waiting for
Melis The Last Russian Doll (skip yellow)
Lisa Guilt by Association (reverse)
Kirsten (I am reading this for a book club that meets on Friday and will wait to finish it until then) Show Girl (6)
We have finished the Mini Part 1.
For the Mini Part 2, I have made up some cocktails with the books that weren't assigned to the mini--some of them haven't been finished. We can add up to 25 books; we 16 books (not all finished) on the spreadsheet. If you read a book before the end of the challenge, put it on the spreadsheet or post it here. I promise we can find a place for it.
So -- keep reading and keep posting, and we will have another fantastic month. And please do check in if you haven't this week--we like to know how everyone is doing.
The best book I read this week was Crybabym which I've read 2x before. I don't do a lot of re-reading, but this one is so good and so short that I'm always glad to come back to it. It's funny, romantic, and hot AF. (If MM isn't your thing, you won't like it) How about you?

I started Meet Me in Milan by Sophie Gravia and I’m loving it and hopefully finishing I Let Her In by Maria Frankland it’s not been as good as previous Maria books and I knew who the culprit was pretty quickly. Not sure what secret has been hidden though so hopefully that surprises me

I also love Emily Henry! Beach Read was my favorite and I’ve had People We Meet on Vacation on my tbr forever. I should read it in April.

You should! They were both really good.
I’m going to try and get to

Hello, cardsharks!
We are ready for April. If you've got a book on the go and won't finish it this month, don't worry. We will have a place for it next month.
The full April Info post is available here.
Highlights:
We have 25 color cards, including overload cards (see below), so lots of opportunity for points!
Other special cards include:
10 (helpful but points Draw 2
8 Reverses (that's a lot, so check each others' shelves--Melissa, if one of us gets The Happy Place read this month, the other can read it too)
6 Skips
4 Wilds
Hard Cards (and plenty of them):
9 I/5
12 N/9
Special Twist--Overloads!
Wild Draw 4 cards are no longer in play. We get OVERLOAD cards instead.
Overload cards are also cover color cards, but they are these colors only: purple, pink, orange, brown, grey, white, black. We can only use each overload card once. We don't need any letters or numbers, just the cover. Each overload card is worth 30 points. Same color cover rules apply: covers must be at least 50% colored and when there's a dispute over colors, the captain's group decides.
I'll do my best to keep this post updated with claimed cards. You can claim now, or wait until next week--we still have 6 reading days in March.

Are you in agreement with lisa about my book covers? Nothing against you lisa I just thought a book counted this month for colour and it didn’t so want to be 100% sure

Thanks :) definitely will use tineye in future

I can always read some In Death series books which majority of them take place in New York. They are quick for me so if we get stuck I'll take some of the 9s.
Please also put me down for

ETA: I added the Blue Skip to the spreadsheet. Let me know if you want to use the other 3 as Overloads or something else and I'll add to the spreadsheet.

Hey, Melis--I added Happy Place as an overload (pink) for you and a reverse from me. I will read it when you've got it finished (I'll prolly start it and then just hold the last 2 chapters). I put Key of Light as a skip for Price, but when you finish it, could you please include (either on the SS or the completion post) what else it fits so we can move things around? (The skips are pretty easy.) It can't be an overload because we already have a pink.
Team, does

Thanks, Melis!
