What Are You Currently Reading?

Hey Explorers!!! What are you currently reading? What made you read want to read this book? Did someone recommend the book to you?

I am currently reading for Team Challenge Uno in another group. I've seen a lot of good reviews about this book from a lot of my GR friends. I am also listening to the audiobook of because it is one of our BOTM. I am also reading for Super Series challenge in another group.

I'm reading A Chance Killby Paul Letters because I'm part of the blog tour. It's historical fiction that takes place in WWII.

I tend to find historical fiction books that take place during WWII interesting. I've never read A Chance Kill by Paul Letters. Are you liking the book so far? I'm reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak which is also a historical fiction book that takes place during WWII. I love to book so far, but I'm nervous about finishing it (I'm 92% done with it) because I have a feeling the ending is going to be sad. So, I'm trying to brace myself for it.

The Book Thief is excellent. There's also a movie based on it which is different, but I think it's good in its own way.

A Chance Kill was released in February so it's fairly new. I like the sections from the perspective of the female protagonist, Dyta. I also like the male protagonist, Tom, but some of the details of his life as an RAF pilot aren't very interesting to me. YMV!

I never knew their was a movie based on The Book Thief. I'll have to look that up.

A Chance Kill sounds interesting, I'll have to add that to my TBR shelf.

Update-- I just started reading Life in Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina, the memoir of African American ballerina Misty Copeland.

A Chance Kill is what I'm reading on Kindle which I read on mass transit.

Life in Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina is the library book that I'm reading at home.

Sounds very interesting. I've never really been into ballet all that much, but her story sounds touching. You'll have to let me know your thoughts on this one when you finish it; I may have to step out of my comfort zone and read this.

I'm now almost finished with Moonlight Water by Win Blevins and Meredith Blevins. A San Francisco musician finds a new life among the Navajo.

Tomorrow I'm starting a historical mystery on my Kindle for a blog tour The Masque of a Murderer by Susanna Calkins.

I loved your review. I had to mark the book as to-read. Now I must search for it at the library or actually go out and buy it. I usually buy 2 books a month.

I've never read Moonlight Water. The cover of The Masque of a Murderer is very pretty. Sometimes I'm drawn into a book because of its cover.

The Masque of a Murderer is the third book in the series. I'm willing to read series out of order, but many people find that confusing. The first book in the series is A Murder at Rosamund's Gate.

I usually just feel like I missed something important when I read series out of order, but sometimes with mysteries you don't really miss much. It's usually just different cases. I'm glad tomorrow is my trip to the library day. Yay!!! See if I can find these books.

I absolutely loved The Giver. I read the second book in The Giver Quartet, but I didn't like it as much as the first book. I guess that's because the character from The Giver wasn't in it. So, I'll keep reading to see if the 2 stories happen to come together in the 3rd or 4th book.
