Meredith Parnell | 3 comments There was a part toward the end that my sister and I always thought was so funny about the dad chewing a bite of gravy. We still joke about it whenever someone makes gravy that is even the slightest bit lumpy! I cannot remember details about the title, illustrations, etc. just these kids that make dinner for their dad and it’s a disaster but he is a great sport about it.

Do you remember if the siblings were boys or girls, or one of each?

Capn | 3506 comments I don't know if anything here is old enough, but worth checking:

Listopia
Culinary Fiction - Middle Grades

Just FYI - OpenLibrary text search for "chewing gravy" and "chewy gravy" came up negative, unless you want to read about nasty chewing tobacco in the gobs of old cowboys. ;)

Rainbowheart | 28705 comments Kinda reminds me of the kids making dinner in Ramona Quimby, Age 8, but it wasn't just for their dad.

Meredith Parnell | 3 comments Me too! I went to the library to find a copy to flip through but it wasn’t what I was remembering.
