Read this today and really enjoyed it! (view spoiler)[I felt like we got some acknowledgment of how manipulative the adults have been... and reasons why they thought it was necessary.

I really enjoyed seeing the kiddos on their way to grown up... feels like they went from high school level to university level in the last few books, and now they're ready to hit the major league... only without ever saying that they are major league.

The death of the armor-kid's father was really sad... but I was glad that he got the chance to tell his son how proud of him he was. And that will be the last thing his son remembers of him.

I was just wondering about the title for the next book just when A went traitor and stole the device. I'm really curious if the climax of the series ends up as taking him down--or if the team actually succeeds in upsetting the world order. (hide spoiler)]

I have failed at posting, I finished this last week. (view spoiler)[I liked it but man it sucked that Alustin is a traitor d-bag, I was disappointed! And then Arthur died, so sad! Is Kanderon really dead or just in some kind of hibernation state? This book was basically a downer but where it is in the series that is not really surprising. Looking forward to the next even though these are getting longer as the series progresses..... (hide spoiler)]

Started this earlier today, before taking a nap... read about 20% so far, and my main thought is:

"This has been alot of magic theory and stretching so far"... I guess that makes sense for a series about kids in magic school, but it's easy to forget that, as much time as they spend out on missions and things...

Not sure what to think about those spoilers... went and read future book blurbs after... curious how much is as it seems, and how much is waiting to be twisted/retconned into new interpretations later on...

Past 80%, and I kinda feel like the book is never-ending, now that we're in the eponymous siege... mostly because it's getting late-ish, and I'll barely finish before bed...

I found a reddit thread of a re-reader, talking about all the foreshadowing for the ending developments here, through books 2-5...

I definitely agree it's not a surprise for being possible, so much as for actually following through... the "trope" would have been to choose new family over revenge... but alas...

I also learned how most/all of John Bierce's works are contained within the Aetheriad, a multiverse of connected worlds, accessed through labyrinth connections, I think?... it's been hinted at a few times in the story, but not been too important...

Guess everyone wants a Cosmere now :D

I saw an AMA with Bierce and he said that the vile betrayal was planned from the beginning which makes it even worse! lol
