There was a non-fiction challenge this year. It was called The Truth, The Whole Truth, and Nothing but the Truth.

Kelli | 103 comments I love Katrina's idea for a published year challenge! I have old books on my TBR list that I want to get to and this would encourage me to dig in and do it!

I actually LOVE the idea of a years published challenge as well! I feel like this would be an easy and fantastic way to clear my TBR. Also really love the idea of featuring a different year each month of 2024. Great idea Katrina!

MissyTexas | 248 comments Coming late to the party for the year, I would love to see list published of all active challenge’s at any time. If there is one, I did not find it….yet. Xo

Missy, is this the kind of thing you're talking about? If not, could you give us a bit more detail so we can know what would be helpful to you? 🙂

Yes, exactly, did not know where to locate. Plus mostly on the app which has less options. Thank you!

Sarita | 2287 comments So this year did not go as planned with my challenges, but these are all I was excited about and enjoyed even though I might not have reached my goals.

Finish the series
Complete the author
New Author to me
New releases

Hidden Gem
Author of the month
Pick a book for me

TBR challenge - where you selected specific shelf before the year and only selected the books per category from that list.

Thank you for all the feedback, friends. I'm still making notes and already have plans coming together for next year's challenges. Y'all have definitely given me lots to consider!

Bridget | 437 comments I came across a challenge in another group that I thought was interesting.
You choose a book for your tree trunk and then read books that connect in some way to the trunk as your branches of the tree. And then read books that connect to your branches as leaves.
As a Christian group, I was thinking Vine (one only), Branches (as many as you like that connect to the Vine), Fruit (as many as you like that connect to the branches).
For example:

Vine: Carved in Stone - Elizabeth Camden Carved in Stone (The Blackstone Legacy, #1) by Elizabeth Camden

Branch 1:Redeeming Gabriel -Elizabeth White - author's first name
Fruit 1: A Portrait of Loyalty -Roseanna M. White - author's last name
Fruit 2: The Hand-Me-Down Family - Winnie Griggs - historical romance genre

Branch 2: Chasing Shadows Chasing Shadows by Lynn Austin -Lynn Austin - published 2021
Fruit 1: After the Shadows - Amanda Cabot - Title (Shadows)
Fruit 2: Bookshop by the Sea Bookshop by the Sea by Denise Hunter -Denise Hunter -bicycle on cover

The connection possibilities are endless. Author, cover, title, publication date, character name, genre, in a series, etc.

Just another idea to add to all the other great ones you have :)

Ooh, that sounds fun! Thanks for shaping it into a Christian-themed challenge for us. I'll get that one added to the mix for next year.

Bridget | 437 comments Absolutely! Looking forward to it!

We're doing 'pick a book for me' in 2024 again, but I need a few more lists if people wouldn't mind!

Bonny (bonnybonnybeth) | 667 comments I know I'm too late for input, but just wanted to say that some of the challenges I enjoyed this year were the rainbow covers and the weather challenge. Also wished I had participated in the barnyard challenge, so hopefully I'll have another chance in the future!
