Roberto Acero This, Taming of the Shrew or Midsummer Night's Dream? (please, choose two and say why)

Jennifer Hamlet is a major favorite. Of three you are comparing - has to be number 1. Taming of the Shrew would be number 2. I'm only an avid reader, so I cannot say anymore, other than I enjoy the story lines of the two. I know many will criticize the obvious sexism of Taming, but that's not bothersome considering the time in which it was written and the snickering tone.
I'm not a huge fan of Midsummer? Honestly, I'm just indifferent about it. I've never seen it performed though, which is the intended vehicle, so maybe that would be change my opinion. That being said - I've never seen the other two performed, but have still enjoyed (readability?)
Thanks for post! I'm not a Shakespearian expert, but I have "bothered" to learn and enjoy as a reader. I hope more do/will. It's a great education in itself.

Ema Hamlet is the only one I've read, but it's great if you like madness, murder, mayhem and mania. The other two are comedies, so they won't be as dark.

Gerd I'd go for Midsummer Night's Dream, it has some memorable lines and turns of phrase.
Hamlet I reread just recently, and I don't think it holds up as well as some of his other work. On the other hand Hamlet's self-centered moodiness is a character trait that is still today easy to identify with when you're younger.

Felicia Hamlet. It's so well thought-through, and people still can't seem to figure out whether Hamlet was indeed mad or just pretending. It makes it possible for so many different outcomes on stage, and with a play, I think the most important thing is how it is on stage, not how it is read, because it's supposed to be given on stage.

Mariem I didn't read the other two I only read Hamlet but I can guarantee u that u will like it alot ,it's one of a kind tragedy ,it's well-written and the plots, the characters, the atmosphere are awesome,u'll like it if u give it a try
